I don't say this about major-label singers often, but I actually liked Richard Marx's stuff back in the day. He was pretty good as far as late-'80s soft rock/pop goes.
Having said that, yeah, it seems like he's being kind of a douche.
Agreed. I rank Dalton second to Connery as the best Bond. Worst is probably goofy-ass Roger Moore, though I'm not really a fan of the overly serious, unsophisticated (beer-drinking, Texas Hold 'Em playing) Daniel Craig.
I don't understand the surprisingly common assertion that integrated phone clocks have replaced wrist watches. Who wants to dig a phone out of their pocket to check the time, instead of just a quick glance at the wrist?
"Arrogance" is an unwarranted sense of superiority. Vickerman's sense of superiority over the court isn't unwarranted...In this case, it's merely a recognition of fact.
Only one European brand (Porsche) ranks in the J.D. Powers top 10 most dependable makes in this country, and it's near 10. By contrast, half the rest are American brands. Most of the bottom makes, on the other hand, are European, with Land Rover staying perennially at the very bottom.
European cars were probably the best in the '80s and '90s, but they've been garbage, by and large, for the last decade, and accordingly have been considered largely irrelevant in the United States, in particular.
For Europeans, it's pretty hard to understand why some Americans oppose President Obama's Healthcare reform so vehemently.
For Americans, it's perfectly simple: No one should be force to purchase from private industry, with failure to do so punishable by law. I just can't see running people out of their homes by forcing them to buy insurance...on the grounds that they *might* become chronically ill.
Honestly, if it were tax-supported, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
The government has far more guns that the civilian populous
That's "populace," and no, the government doesn't have more guns. There are 50 million civilian gun owners in this country, with hundreds of millions of guns between them. If even a tenth of the gun owners in this country decided to overthrow the government, it would fall in about a month.
And as for the tired argument of "but the government has tanks and missiles," if there's one thing this country learned in Vietnam, it's that cumbersome flashy military hardware means virtually nothing against an untrained civilian force utilizing small arms and improvised explosives.
Don't buy. Just don't pirate it either. try to live only with your no-names and regional acts, try to have a meaningful discussion with friends about bands they know nothing about, while they are talking between themselves about the new platinum albums out there, and you will realize that you turned off your social aspects entirely.
This is precisely what I've been doing since 2008. The best part of it is turning friends to bands that I've discovered, that they would probably have otherwise never heard of. As for any aquaintences that only listen to label garbage, that's their problem, not mine.

And perhaps you missed my reply to that, where I pointed out that the entertainment industries aced all six.
