Re: Ever get the feeling like Masnick wants to tell everyone how to run their business?
I know, I mean how dare mike have an opinion on shitty business models that tell customers when and how they can and cannot watch something and ignore the glaring facts that customers want to view it online but only putting it on TV
They usually seem to happen when the movie studios lose the case since I assume there would have been news of a new case being brought against the person if the information was revealed. Plus we never heard any gloating from the studios about how they "crushed" piracy or something like that which usually follows a win for them.
So let me see if I can get this right. Man makes porn in California for people in NY. People in an area of Florida where it is illegal, still order and choose to buy the material. The man who makes it gets sent to jail because the bible nutters in that area don't like it?
So how do you know the exact times that Mike is and isn't on a plane? Or do you just assume he is on there the moment anybody named anonymous doesn't post in stories right away? And of course Mike is the ONLY person who would EVER point out the obvious.
Hey, don't attack his fantasy land! He needs a happy place to go so he can feel that injustice is being done and false blame being placed somewhere regardless of if its based in reality or imagination land :P
This is one phone call, there are several other articles written by musicians about similar treatments especially when the industry declares them "unrecouped" and then fails to track their earnings properly because they feel early on they won't be able to make it back. Of course you don't care about that or anything else that is against the "good will and faith" of your precious failing industry.
The higher the price the more value it has and therefor songs must be priced higher to give them more value, everybody who took Imaginary Economics 204 knows this!
Because kids can't text or talk on digital cameras and therefor don't want them. Also if it cant be a major distraction when driving then its definitely not worth having.
I think the whole problem comes in with the fact that the recording and movie studios feel that people should buy things just because they exist, they shouldn't have to be given any reason to buy.
Google IS giving them money! People click on the links which take them to these news sites. The ads on those news sites are displayed which are now available for those people to click on, view, and buy the products on those ads. If someone does click on one, well it looks like Google just sent them free money since last I checked Google doesn't charge people money to include their sites in the results.
I kind of feel pity for the people who have to approve these videos if the measures to pass and become law and what not. I mean I give it a week before they are flooded with goatse and other disturbing and disgusting videos.
