Bruce is a god of security, and I have had the pleasure of some nice email conversations with him over the years. I only regret that we haven't had the chance to meet in person yet, but hopefully that will be redressed one day.
RFID readers would be a lot faster, cheaper, and just as egregiously intrusive on one's privacy as plate scanners. Sounds good to me! It would make tracking stolen cars, wives, husbands, boy/girlfriends, neighbors, and politicians much easier as well.
When I drive by Homan Street I shudder. The CPD is one of the most egregious police agencies in the country when it comes to violating the civil rights of its citizens. Rahm should be ashamed that the worst of the violations have happened under his watch.
I loved the "Home Sewing is Killing Fashion" blob. So, if my wife purchases the pattern for a dress, and makes more than one, she is violating their copyright? Man, I'd LOVE to see what she would do to the asshole who suggests that! Most likely, his lips would be stitched to his dick!
I think that the RIAA, MPAA, and others of their ilk forget that they should not cut off their noses to spite their faces! It's so simple, even a child with a lemonade stand (where that isn't illegal these days) can tell them that if you piss off your customers, you lose business!
My wife and I flew together some time ago from Chicago to Tucson Arizona. Her luggage arrived with us. Mine - it ended up in Montreal Canada! When does Tucson == Montreal?
There is zero good coming from DRM (or Digital Restriction Management as Mr. Stallman would say). It is only a way to cause users serious pain and suffering. I can get that simply by asking my wife how her day went...
Just in case you were interested why I REFUSE to use Microsoft products... Read no further. Great phones but crappy battery life and worse software. I am much happier with my Samsung Galaxy 5 and One-on-One Android phones. Everything else in my universe runs Linux.
