As an honored member of the Royal CommenTator Society, I will have to agree, yes their are quite a few professional and witty CommenTators belonging to this blog.
You should reply directly to Almost Anonymous's post next time, it'll make it easier to understand what your referring to once the threads start getting longer :3
Not totally "free" to watch. "there's no such thing as a free lunch" haha. You have to pay $M (Money-dollars) for the cable first, then you have to pay in $T (Time-dollars) and $P (pain-in-the-butt-dollars) to watch it at the time the cable companies dictate the show to be played. Unless you TiVo it, but then that's an added $Money cost to buy TiVo.
If a content creator creates something that people want, but doesn't give the consumer a chance to buy it, it's the content creators fault for making a bad business decision not to sell it in the the way consumers want to buy it, it's simple entrepreneurship.

So, Rumblefish owns a copyright on all bird songs ever? Man that is genius! Be right back guys, I'm gonna go copyright whale songs, or maybe car traffic noises, those are used so much I'll make a FORTUNE!
Yeah, he's not even a very good troll either... I think he was actually serious before and is now trying to act like a troll to play off the fact he had no idea what he was talking about earlier.
That's kinda how it already "works" copyright is for 70 years or 20 years after the author's death, whichever comes first. After that it goes under the public domain. The problem is every time copyright is about to run out and things are finally about to go into public domain, Disney, Hollywood, and the MAFIAA, raise a shitstrom about how we "need to extend copyright another 10+ years or else we'll all fail, no one will create anything new, the world will end, and we won't be able to bribe- I mean contribute to your campaign anymore!"
Yes, the comments section from "If You're Going To Compare The Old Music Biz Model With The New Music Biz Model, At Least Make Some Sense" was a gold mine of entertainment and insight!
:D
Like I said to some other commenter, the author of this statemnt is probably from the old school of thought and the idea that people create for free just for the sake of creating or release things for free to increase their popularity, probably never crossed the authors mind.
