The FBI doesn't want to force Apple to unlock THIS phone.
In the previous FBI vs Everyone's Security battle, the FIB proved that it was able to get an individual phone unlocked. Even after it claimed it had exhausted all possible measures.
So why should they be believed this time.
PLEASE DON'T say the FBI wants to force Apple to unlock THIS phone. The FBI wants to force Apple to build a tool, that can unlock ALL phones, without supervision. Even if it means Apple needs to re-design their phone's security mechanisms. That is what this battle is about. And that's the way it needs to be stated.
It is not fair unless all of the other ISPs also introduce the same bandwidth caps.
And for additional customer value, add throttling. If your bandwidth is capped, you might as well not be able to use it all within a single billing cycle.
The people at the top corrupting, manipulating, and rigging all the controls of government, power and wealth may be surprised if something like that would happen for that reason.
And they cannot control the person who gets elected.
And that person is a lose cannon (sic). And things end up going very badly.
But hey, they brought it on themself, and upon the rest of us.
In the event of En Blanco's absence, or the inability of the government to locate him, then his successor may be the previous office holder; who can then issue assurances and promised of a through investigation into the disappearance of En Blanco.
As much as I'd like to fix the IT sector first, you're not going to fix anything until you can fix legalized bribery . . . er, I mean campaign finance.
And legalized bribery needs to once again have the nasty and illegal connotation that it once would have had instead of being an amusing sound byte.
This is not an article about the election. But about freedom of speech. A subject TechDirt frequently covers. And this is about freedom of speech during a critical time that will soon pass.
Unless you're pure as the new fallen snow, you don't know what the other side will learn in discovery. Or, rather, you do know, and therefore want to avoid this.
Trump has happily admitted in the past to filing bogus defamation lawsuits because he knows it will cost a lot to defend against them
Can SLAPP lawsuits be used?
Or here is an approach that I bet would not scale well for Trump. Whenever Trump issues a threat or actual lawsuit for something he doesn't like, if the party can afford to, sue/countersue Trump asking the court for a declaration of non slander.
Trump would have to defend against the swarm of counter suits. And maybe he's not so rich as he pretends to be. The wealth, like almost everything else may simply be a can man's illusion.
Some people do not change, nor are forced to do good.
Without naming any names, for example, a drug company increasing the prices of old life saving medications by thousands of percent. And sleeping well. Bragging about it.
Uh, No. Do not see Fosspatents for anything remotely resembling information, factual or not.
First, the name is an oxymoron.
The content spewed there is in support of patents and against FOSS. (Free and Open Source Software.)
That site and its author became notable during the SCO vs IBM trial. It has consistently been against free and open source software, but uses FOSS in its name.

Wouldn't it be simpler . . .
Make it a mandatory requirement for everyone to vote. That ensures high voter turnout, eliminating a common criticism.
Ballots are identified with each voter -- to ensure the integrity of the system that every voter voted, and exactly once.
This improved system would not only avoid confusion about who to vote for, it would streamline the entire electoral process.

Yes, even Hollywood. Just on a bigger, slower scale.

But many of Clinton's ads use Trumps OWN WORDS.
Therefore, they cannot possibly be true. :-) And are subject to a lawsuit.

It all seemed so fine when it was an American company suing a foreign company for a billion dollars over slide to unlock and similar crap.
