Laws that violate my rights as a person that don't harm others (such as copyright laws) can be viewed as stupid laws.
I'm in the camp of reforming the laws we have so that people can live more freely and openly without worrying about the fact that, currently, everyone commits 2-3 felonies a day and don't know about it. In some places it's illegal to eat icecream on the sidewalk, or sing in a swimsuit or go to sleep in bed with your shoes on. Or how, in some areas, you can shoot at Native Americans if there's 3 or more walking down the street as they constitute a war party.
All of those laws I mentioned above? Stupid laws, no one follows them.
So, get that box out from around your head and try looking up some information about people being unable to get jobs because of crimes they committed in the past that should be expunged but aren't.
*sigh* You have no idea about anything other than the little box around your head, do you?
"In this day and age, you can be help accountable everything you say and do. The internet makes sure it stays there "forever". Why would being a minor (criminal) change that fact?"
Because, buskahosa, when you're a child to a teenager, you do some pretty stupid things, due to the fact that you have no sense of mortality and your hormones rushing through your body.
Don't tell me that you did nothing stupid or crazy as a kid, the only people who say that are liars. Even if it wasn't illegal, you probably still did something stupid and/or crazy when you were growing up.
"If you commit a crime, you simply have no right to keeping the fact private."
And it's because of attitudes like that that we get such bad laws in the first place.
"A criminal is a criminal."
You're one of those people who would take someone who was arrested for something minor (perhaps possession of drugs or alcohol under the legal age) and hold it over their head for the rest of their lives, aren't you? In fact, I can just see it now.
"Sorry, I can't hire you, you once got caught drinking alcohol when you were 15. We need to have people who don't break the law around here."
"But that was ten years ago."
"The law's the law and you can't change it. So, get out of here."
First they came for things that I didn't like, so I said nothing. Next they came after things that didn't matter to me, so I said nothing. Now they come after me and things I do like and I try to say something, but there's no one to listen.
Re: Re: Re: a) Rapidgator is not just starting up.
If I buy something, it's purchased, not a license. Because, if something happens to the song, movie or software, the manufacturer, if it's a license, is supposed to replace it, free of charge, but since that doesn't happen, then I have obviously purchased the song, movie or software.
"Is it really that much to ask for a basic process in which a site is given the chance to respond to allegations before it's shut down entirely?"
Of course it is!
Why, if they had a basic process, one might think that they weren't doing something illegal! And then we'd have to go to court and drag stuff out and find out that maybe the MAFIAA lied to everyone to get these laws passed.

You really have NO idea, do you?
The only way enforcement isn't necessary is if it's not illegal in the first place.
