Here's why you can't have a 3-strikes policy against abusers - because their 4th complaint could be valid. You can't enable one violate to punish another
Whereas with the person who has 3 strikes against them (presumably valid) for copyright infringement, they can still produce material, they just can no longer host it on that privately owned forum.
Under what justification is it legal for the police to remove *installed* security cameras in a business? How is that anything other than tampering with evidence and destruction of property? And yes, I know, they're above the law, but usually they have some thinly-veiled excuse, but I haven't even heard that yet.
The funny thing about these feeble attempts at propaganda is that they work. All you have to do to get nationalist fervor whipped up is give them a tiny little bit of what they want, and they'll supply the rest.
I think it was like the two speeches written about the lunar landing. They prepared one in case they decided to admit guilt, but then they ended up going the other way.
So the Mouse House is the prime mover behind a lot of the efforts to make Copyright eternal starting from the birth of Walt Disney onward.
Can't we change the law to expand trademarks to include mascots, so that Mickey and company never enter the public domain so long as disney is operational, but that the rest of copyright actually has an expiration date?
And if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you.
Considering the alarming lack of honesty in regards to all things related to surveillance on the American public, are we really expected to believe them when they say that they're going to stop doing what they only admitted to doing after being caught red-handed?
When I was a kid, before video games were really a thing, we played cops and robbers; it was violent (nobody ever got arrested, just shot). Sometimes we played with fake swords instead, also violent. When my dad was young it was cowboys and indians... violent.
When was this imaginary time when kids games didn't include violence?
Would you be so kind as to do a write up for Reddit? I think more people need to understand what's wrong with the idea of intellectual property, and I'd love to have something to direct them to when I meet maximalists.
