Re: just shows again how out of touch republicans really are
Hi Hurricane Head, my name is Cory of PC, short for an extremely long name, and I would like to say: if you find politics funny, then please consort with the nearest psychologist. I'm fairly sure there's something wrong with that very fragile mind of yours.
I'll only see my flag raising when the break of romance dawn comes. And that'll come when the US realized it made a REALLY idiotic decision and will start taking the slow and winding path to recovery.
Of course that ain't gonna happen, since that last part is a fantasy, but hey, if the US can, I don't know, get the entertaining monkey off their backs and realize they aren't the ones in charge of the world, then maybe I might raise my flag in celebration.
Then again, you don't know what flag I'm going to fly.
So... it's all right in the UK to allow sex offenders on the Internet, but it's all right in the US to ban teens from the Internet?
... I never thought I had to type that sentence out.
And to note: I'm not in favor of sex offenders, but if the UK can see that it's completely stupid to prevent them from getting on the Internet, while it's all right to do so to a teen here in the US... we Americans really need to get our heads free and start seeing the real picture of the digital world.
Sure, like they're going to take advice from some angry idiot sitting in front of a computer to die in a fire. Yeah I'm pretty sure that your comment is top priority and everyone should obey you and follow your every command! That way, there'll be no one left to put posts here.
You know, I could rip this apart and make fun of it, but I won't. Seriously, this alone has enough fuel to make a ton of comments. I could see some things that I love to rip into and they aren't the odd words.
A bit of advice: if you want people to take you seriously, get your facts right and try to spell check!
"[L]aw should remove the option, the same as it does with many things."
Like piracy, hm? Last time I check, it's still around and it ain't going anywhere anytime soon! Also the same for littering, jaywalking, not wearing seat belts, copyright infringement... really I could go on with this, even into the major stuff, but I won't. But point still stands. Just because there's laws to prevent them, doesn't mean the crimes have magically disappear in a couple of days... or months... or years... decades... do you see something yet?
"Laws in our country are based on what the majority of the p[eo]pl[e] believe (most of the time)."
Oh sure, like how we got laws in place to prevent homosexual couples from... really a lot of things. It's because of the majority of the people... Then again, was Prohibition from the majority of people or was that a select few?
"Sometimes things we don't like will be made into law, that's one sometimes unfortunate side of democracy. Welcome to it."
Can I leave? I don't like it here.
... You're funny. Can't you stay around a little longer?
Now then, let me off by saying: I don't care about your morals. To me, they stink. Horribly. Now this is just my personal opinion and it's that, and I'm certain you'll find others out there that'll agree with your views, but I find your thoughts to be... sickening, to say the least. Case in point (and I'm going to be in that Prinny suit waiting for me in Hell for this...):
"Abortion is not a right."
*struggles back laughing* ... I'm sorry, but... that made me laugh. Now I know you can't see this for... whatever reason you got, but if you really believe that killing a fetus within the first weeks is wrong... then ask me this: do you really think you should allow a woman who was raped and impregnated with an illegal child to keep said child without anything to care of said child? Or a girl gets impregnated by her father, or her brother, or her cousin, to raise a child? Have you ever considered that?
Now for my own personal views (and I know there are those out there who will disagree with what I'm about to say, aka you): I'm personally against abortion simply for the matter of I want to have my own child and start my own family. ... But, if the rare occasion occurs when my wife (or girlfriend) gets into any serious complications, and if the child's life is at stake... I might consider it. And to add on, one person said that s/he's against abortion after the first trimester and I do agree with that view. Now if this occasion comes up... it'll have to be a decision made by both me and my girl to decide whether or not the child lives... or I lose two lives.
And on a larger scale of things... I don't give a crap about what people do with their own bodies! I believe that everyone is given the choice to decide what they want to do with their own bodies and I will accept that.
The thing is... to me, it really comes down to whether or not I am willing to pass on a chance for one fetus to grow up and become a part of my family, or wait for another opportunity to come around to have another child. And there are plenty of opportunities out there to have a child... it's just knowing when it's the right time to have one. If a woman, a man or a couple can't determined when the right time for a child is, then why do they bother creating one in the first place?
But... what else can I say? I'm just spouting my own personal views when they are nearly completed. It's not like you're going to agree with me on them... you think it's evil, I think it's just life. Sure I am personally against it, but I can't stop everyone myself. And neither can you.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: It still looks like a right to me. . .
Hello Mr. Levine! Nice to meet you. My name is Cory and I happen to be a creator. Now then, can I ask you something? When do I ever bash Techdirt for its views towards creators? Last time I checked, it was... never. In fact, I actually love some suggestions that are made on this site and I want to use them when I finally get ready to make some money.
The only time I was bashing was against people like you. I would say that the truth is blinding, but I guess you're already too blind to see it. ... And no, it's not towards Mike.
Re: Re: Re: It still looks like a right to me. . .
Hi Anonymous Troll! I see you're taking this time to insult Mike once again, trying to get info for whatever you have planned and bring absolutely nothing to this conversation! I have to ask, why are you so concern about Mike's stand on certain parts of IP law? The whole world wants to know why...
Until then, please take your own advice and leave in a calm fashion. If you want to talk to Mike, please be more mature. You're not going to get anywhere with that kind of mouth.
What? Are you too busy with your schedule of taunting random people and attacking Mike to not "teach" Leigh about... whatever you're trying to get at, and placing responsibility in someone else's hands? Nice...
I'm certain he's not afraid of anything. I'm going to take a wild guess to say that you're afraid that your high horse is smaller to Mike's and you want to make it bigger by having these "frank and honest" debates.
Well he is answering to your response, except you don't like it. So that does count as an answer, not "NOT answering anything." Not responding to your comment is "NOT answering anything."
"The fact that Mike refuses to have a frank and honest discussion about his personal beliefs indicates that he's hiding something."
Oh yes, I'm fairly certain Mike is hiding something... something in these over 40,000 posts! I'm fairly certain that Mike has talked about his views in these posts pretty clearly, but it appears you whole-heartily refuse to see this. I also know that Mike won't go into more personal details with his personal life, since none of those things belong on this site unless there's something in the topic of the post that has something to do with him personally (like some posts with his father.) I could care less about Mike's personal life unless I see something that has connections to mine own, but upon seeing all of your comments towards him... that makes you look like a stalker waiting for the moment to deliver the final strike to his prey than some person looking for an educated debate.
"The man whose job in life is to tear apart the beliefs of others refuses to discuss his own frankly and honestly."
Seriously? Who wants to have a job that is nothing but talking down to people over the Internet? ... Well, I could see a few people, but I don't think anyone else other than you and your kind would want to do that. I certainly don't, and I don't want to get paid to do that either. Also I don't see you wanting to get into a "frank and honest" debate with Mike. You just want to get ammunition to make yourself look bigger and better than someone who has more knowledge than me and you.
"And pretending like I'm a child for calling him out on this stuff is just sad."
To be fair, we pretend since we have absolutely no idea who you are on the other side of the screen. But since I'm in a place where men in their early 20s behave like middle-schoolers, we can call you a child for just acting like one. And sure it's good to point out something, but not in a way it's insulting the writer because you disagree with his views. Doing so doesn't really help in your image or trying to get what you want. If your comments have a little more maturity in them, then maybe there might be some discussions. But for the time being, you're going to continue with this campaign you have going for you and keep attacking this site with off-topic threads, trying to prove your point while throwing everything out the window.
And to wrap this up:
"Those are not the actions of an honest person."
This says a whole lot about your kind. Well, I'll be honest, the word "honest" does have different meanings to different people and that is part of our views. If you really think you're such an honest person and Mike isn't, then why are you insulting him?
