NSA's 7 Step Program for accepting your new Police State
Hi. My name is Ryan and I've been surveillance state apologist for nine months now. Let's repeat our steps for acceptance:
1. Accept you are powerless.
2. Know that just because the government can destroy you it probably won't.
3. The government spying on you is in your best interest and will make you safe.
4. Realize that other countries have worse oversight to their spying programs than we do.
5. You trust corporations with your personal information you should trust the government with your information.
6. The media is spying on you so you should accept that the government is spying on you also.
7. Don't be concerned -- the government is only gathering your meta-data and then it's only for five years.
So is there a fee to join the NSA friends and family plan?
So if I get one of these letters or is there a way of joining this NSA friends and family plan and will that mean that my phone meta-data will not be collected by the NSA?
How about my credit card information?
My emails?
How many times I used the toilet at my work per day? Will all this information be excluded?
If there were a true conflict of interest between what a part time judge does with his time when he's not on the bench then I can see that there would be an issue. But in this case it's simply an incredibly stupid overreaction.
This reminds me of a story from 2009. My wife is from England. My kids remember this news report and sometimes tease their mother when she asks them to do something they don't want to -- by saying in a thick British accent: Bang! Bang! You're dead!
Title needs to be changed. It is not Village People it is The Village People. In an interview they were very clear about this back in the 70's. That is if anyone remembers the 70's.
But the common response so far has been to detain, charge and lock up teens with faulty brain-to-keyboard filters first and ask questions (or investigate) later.
Perhaps I'm just an old coot that hates children but aside from the 'lock up' and 'investigate later' procedures the drain bramaged teens could use a good scare.
