NSA - Tyranny exercised for the good of its victims
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth."
— C. S. Lewis
For those of you that don't want to take the time to read the article. Here are the core beliefs of General Alexander:
1) The ends always justify the means.
2) More, data. MORE DATA, MORE MORE DATA.
2a) You will bow down and worship Big Data.
3) Trust me. I'm a General from the government and I'm here to help you.
As soon as Big Brother stopped calling RSA encryption "munitions" was when in my opinion they had reasonably cracked the encryption.
The NSA fought tooth and nail against the export of the encryption method then suddenly without warning the fighting stopped... Just sayin.
Not really shouting from the roof tops but it's a start...
The telco's are silent because they're making a buck off the backs of American tax payers by partnering with the NSA.
Other companies I give the benefit of the doubt since their CD player may be stuck on the John Mellencamp track I fight authority, Authority always wins.

Being the old man that I am I remember when encryption was considered munitions. No really it was.
When it was no longer considered munitions is when (in my opinion) that the NSA had cracked the RSA encryption standard.
Not a suprise with the Police State the US has become
My guess is that if it were a copy of the Constitution that would not have made it either; since this is obviously just as dangerous a document, created from the hearts of souls of rebels who opposed government tyrany.
