How can you 'smear' a man who actively called for the Russians to hack a fellow candidate's campaign, and actively threatened her with jail just for daring to run against him? A man who 'smeared' the current President for all of this decade so far?
I'd be curious to see any references for Harold Shipman being 'covered up by the authorities'. He took advantage of elderly and frail patients, and was a respected senior GP (General Practitioner) who knew how to game the system and take advantage of his and his profession's inherent respect, and the reticence of officials like coroners to cast aspersions.
Shipman got caught because he got greedy and lazy, not because he was being covered up. If that had actually happened, there would have been a major stink about it, rather than just the overwhelming horror we all felt at the time.
They would have to prove malicious intent and falsehood. Somehow the first would be difficult given that third parties are contacting McHugh Fuller themselves, and attempting the second would probably reveal far too much about their practices and outcomes...
