Nah, you don't have to wonder. These things tend to hit the GOP more than the DNC, though one would imagine if a Democrat were insane enough to play a Ted Nugent song, we'd probably see the same thing from him....
If your idiotic interpretation of "proof" that any of these sites has been denied due process is the admission by a court of the same government doing the denying of due process, then I fear that you shall never be satisfied.

I noticed that after the video is concluded and the usual amalgamam of suggested next videos pops up, the one in the lower right hand corner is called "oracle advice" and shows a picture of the The Oracle from the sequels of The Matrix movies.
Is this because the voiceover in the political ad is done by that woman? I can hear some similarities in the voice.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: For those who continue to not understand what a paywall is..
Hmm, so you apparently don't understand what a windowed release is either. That's okay, post-lobotomy patient, I'm here to help.
A window release is where you release different formats of the same thing to everyone at once. For example, Avatar comes out in 3D in the theatres to the entire public. Then, 3 years later, it comes out in 3D on BluRay to the entire public. Window release.
This is a members only offering, where a temporary preview is available to insiders.
Look, to save us all some time, why don't you just make your next comment a list of terms you don't understand and I'll sort it out for you, yes?
Re: Re: Re: For those who continue to not understand what a paywall is..
You don't, and yet none of that keeps you from enjoying the site's content. You still see all the posts and you even see the chat room. You see everything, and without paying, too.
Re: For those who continue to not understand what a paywall is..
I'd add the words access "to a site's content" is restricted.
This isn't a paywall because the only things you're restricted from are physical goods outside the website's content or participation in the chat room.
I would like to lodge, AGAIN, a complaint that this Techdirt RTB store once again does not include my proposed "Dark Helmet Nude Calendar" idea. I can think of no better way to expand Techdirt's female reader demographic than a lovingly printed calendar of me in the buff celebrating the various seasons.
This could easily sell for $100/ea and work the fund to create new and future nude calendars....
"Availability has a lot to do with the size of the market, and can make one wonder at what point the fan fiction goes from merely a cute fun thing for friends and becomes a competitive product."
This is spoken like someone who is unfamiliar with Fan Fiction in general. FanFic does NOT compete with the original product. In most cases, it has little to no effect on the original product, since nearly everyone reading it is a fan and likely already a paying customer of the original.
On the other hand, if that FanFic is REALLY well-written, it can only generate interest in the original. Who the hell would read FanFic without wanting to read the original work?
I, for one, would absolutely LOVE is someone liked my novels enough to build off of them further. I'd expect that it could only generate interest in my books no matter what, but I would also build a symbiotic relationship with the FanFic'ers to the point of asking them to include a link or blurb to my book at the start of theirs. Hopefully they'd be cool enough to do so, but if they didnt?

In all fairness to Mr. Steinberg, he and his people WERE incredibly transparent about why they don't want to be transparent. So....that's something....
