Right to repair has never meant having to cough up individual secrets like encryption or activation keys to unverified people. And that is a fairly easy thing to narrowly address, if it even needs to be addressed.
"Their funding", lol. It is a business. They write articles for other companies to use as internal insight. However much they are paid, they would be the ones with the influence (by providing information, analysis, and ideas), or they would have their contract(s) cancelled.
Sure, they could be writing corporate yes-men blogs, but i don't see how that would last, and it would run rather counter to the articles they write here. And this would be glaringly obvious to the clients.

Yes, and apparently "tech" means they are all IT and code people who have every single possibility covered and can just waltz into two other companies and rework their systems.
I am not sure that school administrations or boards of trustees are much interested in the Constitution for other people. Especially the way universities have gone the last 20 years.
Certainly most of those politicians aren't interested in it at all. (And they should not be butting into uni business, either.)
