That running gag of mine comes to mind.
Once upon a time humans used to put elders on ice floes & set them adrift to protect the tribe from people who would listen to the elder even when it was clear the elder was insane.
We hate to see it but can we be honest for a second?
He is the same age group as millions of citizens who hand over billions of dollars to scammers who call them & scare them into paying.
Our "leadership" skews heavily into the demographic who can't open a PDF without assistance, yet we listen to their views of tech they've never used themselves?
Yeah I don't think we need 20 somethings on SCOTUS, but my FSM can we get people still attached to reality?
Thomas screaming how gay marriage was wrong because people didn't like it... Loving v. Virginia wasn't well liked by people either but here we are with a sitting black SCOTUS Justice married to a QANON infected white woman claiming teh gays getting married caused all of these ills to society that could have just been copypastaed from people screaming about Loving.
What would the nation look like today if we hadn't reelected people who thought decorum & the right thing would make the other side put the country first over their political ambitions?

Oh and because new people can no longer purchase content, there is no resale market potential except to the small group who still have content they can access but maybe a dying system.
So any foreseen (fever dreamed nightmare) profit loss to the secondary market is now averted.
People will have to buy the new new thing.
It is unlikely that gamers had the foresight to invent a new account for the devices so they could then attempt to sell the system & the games it contains to others and somewhere in some TOS I am sure thats a reason to nuke accounts.

Not only will the code be MIA, but the IP itself will be in limbo.
I remember the story about a group who wanted to reboot a beloved game of the past, they tried to follow all the rules but no one knew who currently owned the IP.
They contacted the last known owner who had no idea if they still owned it & wouldn't bother to look until they made their tribute game & made money then they would fire the law lasers.
Project abandoned.
The original game no longer is available, the fans of that game have nothing, there is nothing new to pull in new fans.
But hey good thing the IP is maybe in control of a company... who will look to see if they have the rights to issue or deny permission only if they can demand tribute.

Hi I'm the poster nym for landing in moderation.
I manage to trigger moderation more than the average poster (excluding the screamers).
No technology is perfect, it makes mistakes.
Do know that TeamTechDirt does look in the moderation pile & sets mistakenly flagged posts free.
I can see phrasing in your post that would trip a bot, you did nothing wrong, they did nothing wrong.
Sometimes the price paid to stop the firehose of bad posts, consider the few spam posts you do actually see vs the thousands that never make it, is good posts flagged.
While the Team sometimes thinks I'm upset when I trip it, often all it takes is a ping asking them to jiggle the handle. It happens sometimes (to some of us MUCH MORE OFTEN!!!!!) but they do their best.
I know its annoying to see the moderation message & your post being delayed (trust me I've seen it more), but it will appear. The alternative is seeing so many spam posts that no one would bother... and well I don't like that idea.

“They like our public policy when we’re doing things that benefit them,” said House Speaker David Ralston
You like their campaign donations, perhaps pissing off a large corporation with deep pockets was a really really stupid thing to do.
You attempted to remove graft you had given them, do you think they will forget that?
While the bill you passed had some good points, others aren't.
You are solving a made up problem to protect your seats, not election integrity.
Whats the current Covid spread rate & daily death toll in your state?
I ask only because it seems stupid to push for election integrity, when you've not managed to show any of the claimed bad actions (well when you ignore the Republicans who broke the law), while your citizens are still dying.
They keep showing everyone who and what they are & lets be honest they are WAY worse than any boogeyman they've trotted out claiming they will harm you if you don't keep them in power.
Their death count is way higher than any you can attribute to BLM or ACAB or The child eating Pedo Cabal... perhaps y'all should ask why the foxes keep telling you to worry that the sky is falling when Memaw & PaPaw are in ICU alone, scared, & hanging on by a thread because they did more to stop Delta than the pandemic.

"Sega will continue to fine-tune these systems to avoid this in the future and we appreciate SteamDB cooperating with us to resolve the issue quickly."
We'll keep throwing out shit notices knowing that recipients really have no choice but to remove the content, legal or not, at our demand. We're a little pissed they made noise about this but there is nothing that will happen to us so to our fans... a high hearty fuck you!
This is why notice & staydown is a bad idea.
They can't even tell the difference between DL CRACKED COPY NOW!! & Hey here are stats about the game to peak your interest & a handy link to purchase it.
One would see how fast they could fine tune their shit if there was any sort of penalty for these little hiccups. $100 to a site owner to pay for having their chair cleaned after the legal nastygram scared them would be a start. With the number of defective & stupid notices they'd get better much faster.

"ending qualified immunity could have a chilling effect on officer’s willingness to insert themselves into complex and dangerous situations to enforce the law."
Yes like shooting people in their own homes, killing people in the middle of a mental health crisis, running over protestors, beating journalists, the list goes on but I can only handle so much sad.
Heaven forbid they have to take a second to consider if what they are about to do, or let their mob brothers do, to a citizen isn't the right thing.
I've often wished we could secretly VR record the average stop of POC & then let elected leaders spend time with a gun pointed at their head for a taillight being out to understand it really is a problem even if it never happens to them or their loved ones.
As much as they love to talk about accountability...
Citizen Reviews don't exist, don't have the power to get information, and can be overruled before they even rule.
Courts just say well no one ever explained that shoving a baton into a persons ass was violating a clearly defined right.
There is no recourse for citizens who have been wronged because everything meant to protect them has been made toothless because it hurts officers feelings.
If you knew you could rob, beat, kill & the worst that is going to happen is a couple vacation days taken away or a paid vacation... whats stopping them from doing it again and again?

Re: Re:
