If you believe government is going to save you from the "wealthy elite and multinational corporations", you haven't been paying much attention to what organization is creating them (hint: it's the government).
"But if we don't give bigger and bigger weapons to the mafia thugs, who's going to save us from the mafia don??"
Yeah, good luck with that.
(Also, as an an-cap myself, let me say that "state rights" is not a euphemism for anarcho-capitalism. Ron Paul is a minarchist\constitutionalist. AnCaps do not believe in states or constitutions.)
he has as much right to express his views as you or I
While technically true, your rights here are limited to what Mike allows, since this is his page. Free speech rights do not apply to private property. Otherwise, I agree with your premise.
Besides, I think it's quite charitable of Mike to allow mentally ill people like OoTB an outlet to express themselves.
Doesn't this violate the 6th amendment where one has the right to face one's accuser and question them in court? You can't question a machine as a witness.
No, because the machine isn't accusing you. If you don't pay your automated ticket you will be issued a uniform traffic citation (usually for a greater amount) signed by an officer who will be accusing you, using the camera as evidence.
Re: Not yet implemented, only forward-looking innovation!
And here we see that out_of_the_blue thinks piracy warnings and annoying popups are a new and disruptive technology. Why does that not surprise me?
On another note:
They at least deserve some credit for realizing that simply kicking people off the internet will not help them line their pockets any faster. Even if this plan is idiotic, maybe this is the start of them getting a clue?
Yeah, I think Mike made that pretty clear in the article.
Mike: "Even if it's the rule, it's a stupid rule that should be changed." AC: "But . . . but . . . it's a rule!" Mike: "As I said, the amendment is a step in the right direction, but it doesn't really fix the stupid rule." AC: "But . . . but . . . it's a rule!"
If Doctors don't have faith in this new patented combination, they won't prescribe it (ha~!) and it will get the quick demise it deserves.
That depends entirely on what doctors believe. IIRC, Lipitor has been shown to reduce cholesterol, but not overall mortality.
It's one of those instances where we get so wrapped up in correlation we can't see the forest for the trees.
1. People who die of heart disease tend to have high cholesterol.
2. Cholesterol must cause heart disease.
3. Drug XYZ reduces cholesterol.
4. Drug XYZ must stop people from dying from heart disease.
Much like:
1. Places where hurricanes have hit tend to have a lot of construction crews working.
2. Construction crews must cause hurricanes.
3. Burning down construction firms reduces the number of construction crews.
4. Burning down construction firms must prevent hurricanes.
Yes, but he was implying through sarcasm that this was an example of the free market not regulating itself, when patents themselves are artifacts of government regulation.

Much like how we have game laws for chicken, beef, and pork; without those, we'd eat them all to extinction!
Wait . . .
As it turns out (and this is something internet trolls and rabid greenies don't understand), the tragedy of the commons depends on there being a commons.
