You do know how many people are going to abuse such a law right? All you need is to buy that product, copy the CD key, and return it, now everybody has free software and they don't even need an internet connection to do it.
There won't be a correction since they don't print anything that isn't already typed up and given to them in advance, like all other big papers with their stenographers.
Well if the facts are covered by copyright then could they get around it by saying the show starts a few minutes after lets say 8:55pm and ends a just before 10:05pm. I see no direct information being given unless we can copyright anything related to the factual information already covered.
Lets say patenting was as much of a fad in the 60's as it appears to be today. Just about every computer language, compiler, and line of code would have been patented. This means companies would have to rewrite just about everything whenever they wanted to release some new software. Software and computers would be almost non existent in most homes since costs would probably be far higher than they are today. Pushing for more and more patents is just insane and at some point we have to give up this notion of "but they must also pay" and just redo the system. Patents should be about protecting what you invented from people just stealing it and claiming it as their own not protecting an idea and saying "I THOUGHT OF IT FIRST! ITS MINE!". If MS stole the code line of line and put it in their software then yah they should be sued but if they had a similar idea and designed and implemented it then no, there should never have been a lawsuit.
No, about 98% of the public probably doesn't know wtf intellectual property is. The big corps would use tons of money to flood the TV with commercials about how IP is "good for us all". The American people being the incompetent morons they are would vote for some even more draconian system than exists today without realizing whats actually going on.
***Please bear in mind that I have come to regard the average American as a moron who can only choose between Side A and Side B and will only ever look at the facts given to them in a fanciest and flashiest of manner.
Well from what I gathered by reading different articles on this that 34 Gigs includes all types of information and data such as television, radio, newspaper, etc. which makes sense and its more than just internet data.
I always enjoy seeing those people who shout that get a job line. Did it ever occur to you thick headed morons that maybe most of these people HAVE jobs but they cant AFFORD to spend money on doctor visits when they are STRUGGLING to put food on the table and gas in their car? The problem with you idiots who shout "get a job" probably make half way decent money, well here is a fun fact for you NOT EVERYBODY CAN SAY THAT!!!
Hmmm I didn't realized the elected officials were supposed to keep documents that would change how we use the products we bought and be kicked off the internet because someone accused us with no proof of doing something and do that process in secret, letting only those who it would benefit(entertainment industries) in and keeping anyone who has other input on the matter out and screaming NATIONAL SECURITY RISK!!!! when someone asks why they can't see the document.
They are selling music via something called the internet. Its that other sales medium the record labels don't want to acknowledge about 98% of the time unless its to attack it and say how much harm its causing.
As far as royalties go I would imagine the way the are making the songs would probably be considered fair use of some sort.
And being profitable doesn't jive with the labels that's why they want to try and get them to sign a contract :P
