Remember when we didn't elect thin skinned assholes?
Every one of his lolsuits has been laughable, yet for some reason the courts seem unwilling to just benchslap this idiot, his lawyer, and who ever the fsck is paying the bills for this bs.
Its wasting the courts time, it is allowing a sitting member of Congress to spin an 'alternative view" of events (Read as HE IS FUCKING LYING ALL THE TIME).
I miss when political parties would horsewhip liars to make a point, but then we reelected people who supported 'Mall Food Court' Moore coming back to power.

But IP is our most valuable commodity.
This art teacher didn't want to end up with some cgi character in a video game doing the 'Carlton' wearing a Be Boss, Be Kind shirt without him getting his cut.

Something something just impose penalties that are so costly on them that creating the desired system is actually a better outcome for them.
We have breaches not disclosed for almost a year in some cases, the barn door open, the horses stolen, the barn burned down, rebuilt, new horses brought in before they admit they sold the gas to the arsonist.

Well the companies selling the snakeoil went right for the fears of the idiots in administration.
Without our product people will look at your degrees issued during this time as being less than. We can't have our schools reputation harmed, even if we're actively destroying it ourselves.
Cheating ZOMG!!!!!!
Thats right up there next to murdering people, thats why we have to be so super strict. We can't possibly treat them like adults who if they fake taking tests will be caught by their own ignorance on subjects they tested on.
In the middle of a pandemic the only thing that seemed to matter was getting tuition & then making students pay for the privilege of being spied upon.
I mean its not like the spyware used for several state bar exams screwed those taking the tests over by leaking data, a breach, oh and threatening them with complaints to harm their chance of passing the ethics check by the bar.... oh wait.

Re: PR
Flints water crisis might be a stupid example to use.
They decided to build a new water authority to service the area... it was funded entirely by the people of Flint.
They cut every corner in switching the water over & kept charging for delivering water proven to cause harm to people.
Also the ISP's have had record profits, saved tons on spectrum costs, don't pay for easements, looted the USF of billions while providing nothing they are supposed to.
Boo hoo hoo... in the middle of a pandemic where people decide to to protect themselves rather than return to work to be abused by people who feel it is their right to not wear a mask and infect others can't pay their bills. If only it didn't cost them like 1/10th of what they charge to provide the service they could help people out... I mean they got tax breaks & government welfare that citizens didn't get, why should they do anything to help the people who paid for their welfare?

Given that the AA's have attacked general computing before it might just be MS making a stand to protect themselves.
I mean they got a cut from every plastic disc sold to home consumers b/c it MIGHT be used to steal music from them, taking this program out opens the door to go after other targets in software. Imagine if they sued Nero for daring to have software that lets people make their own audio cds... its all stolen!!!!!!!!!

I think we should do this immediately I see no downside.

GitHub erring on the side of users makes sense.
GitHub makes money from devs, not the AA's.
The AA's can't threaten to take their ball & go away (although they should in this case) leaving no content for GitHub to show.
The **AA's responses are unhinged, everything only exists to steal from them & cost them trillions of dollars.
Its the same look on my face when cops proclaim they found "bomb making supplies" in the suspects house... most people expect TNT, fuses, high tech stuff... except basic household items can be used to make a bomb. They claim bomb making supplies to get people on their side of the narrative & to stoke more fears.
This reminds me of all of the "unique" lawsuits & legal theories used by groups trying to magically ban all guns because they can be used for bad things. We should stop blaming the tools b/c it can do something... tools are neutral its the user that can use it for good or evil. (I mean DLing a Taylor Swift video is punishment enough).

My current favorite I saw, before TwitMo, was someone having their video pulled b/c the sound of their blender was claimed to be a song by Skrillex. I mean we know that old people claim this new fangled music is just all noise but this is the peak of it.
It is a pity that those in Congress can't seem to be bothered to notice how lopsided and unfair the entire system has become. That threatening life destroying fines for 3 seconds of sound might not make people respect copyright & might cause there to be less creators b/c the system offers them no protection but will make sure the sound of a blender is...
That Anonymous Coward (profile), 16 Nov 2020 @ 6:41pm

Twitmo shouldn't apply to timeouts with actual end times listed.
Twitmo should be reserved for the BS they are doing to me, you might have done a crime but we can;t tell you what crime, now jump through these hoops to prove you are you...

We are the abused spouse.
A grand jury failed to indict officers when someone they detained & put in the back of a car hands cuffed behind them managed to produce a super secret hidden gun, get his hands in front of him, shoot himself in the head, then put his hands back.
We give a pass to things we shouldn't because our abusers tell us it'll be worse if we hold them accountable. But then they hit us again, then bring us flowers & we take them back... to be safe.

It would be a shame if someone published a detailed report about the Judges movements based on these pixels.
They cops have millions invested in tanks & riot gear... yet can't investigate crime without having to watch the entire city 24/7 and then search for possible bad guys later.
These are the same sorts of people who have access to those databases with details about everyone & they keep violating the law & policies to get a date. There is NO WAY this would ever be miss used by a jealous husband or ex to stalk who their partner or former partner has moved onto.

It is truly sad that we've grown to accept lies & misinformation.
Cops lie on the stand, elected officials lie on the record, and other than some "outrage" there isn't any punishment.
Using his position to spread this information in this way should be seen for what it was, a stunt to undermine public faith in the system. Like Judges issuing orders demanding prior restraint or Congressmen bent on undermining the 1st Amendment for anyone who doesn't share their Trumpian view of the world, there needs to be punishment.
Instead we'll just tut & tsk, pretending this is just how things are.
We have the leadership we believe we deserve, perhaps we need someone to come in and save us from out abusers & open our eyes that this abuse isn't acceptable & should be punished.

Copyright has been used to bludgeon popular things & kill of innovation over & over.
While Twitch might think they have these streamers locked in at least YT explains why you are getting fscked over.
How Twitch was unable to read the tea leaves to see the Hollywood sign size of letters saying BAD THINGS COMING! Is like extinction level stupidity.

Lets flip this...
EU citizens are now subject to death for blasphemy, because why should the laws of The Kingdom not apply in their nations?
This whole our nation can control the world thing has bitten them in the ass several times & they keep pushing it.
