Just to hit it first, apologies if the illusion is just too real. (ah-hem):
(in bestest whiny troll voice)
"Why would two big time politicians pay any attention to a small time blog this this two bit outfit? Mike, you've been smoking too much crack; time to smack the dog and dry out a bit."
Repeatedly bringing false arguments does not make them true.
You are trolling--purposefully extolling falsehoods in order to get a response. You are doing well, people are responding. But you KNOW you're spouting falsehoods in order to provoke a response.
I know your type, recognize it clearly. Seen it for years while throwing idiots like you out of a bar. You're only here to pick a fight and don't even care what side you're on.
Dear Jackass Bob,
If you have a problem with "innocent until proven guilty" then feel free to expatriate to another country where they have some other legal system.
Even that heart-felt farmers bit, wow. Brings a tear to my eye how you could possibly relate the fact that we pay farmers to not grow food in order to artificially reduce the supply thereby artificially raising the cost of said food so farmers can sell their goods for a high enough price to get by with music distributors having the same problem is an amazing coincidence as I think you've been correct, but not on purpose.
Most Senators/Congressman are millionaires and their constituents are not. Nothing like money to make you forget all of the "little people/problems".
Maybe we should have some clause like "elected persons may not have a personal or familial wealth greater that 20% +- the median individual member of the populations wealth" or something to that effect...
Perhaps pair off such persons, give each a blunt-ish instrument and tell them there will exactly 1 entry into a rehabilitation for corrupt politocos in exactly 5 minutes.
Whichever one lives can have a frontal lobotomy and exactly zero additional medical treatment and be on his merry way.
Though, perhaps I'm just a touch biased against corruption.
Spoken with belief, laid out falsehoods with utter conviction, and tons of immediate passionate response to your well positioned and well worded nonsense!
Re: Says " the 90+ million households who pay to watch".
A- Trolling. You're getting quite good.
Statement: Ye aulde paper newspaper manufacturer makes their money via selling advertisements, the price they can charge would-be advertisers being influenced by the number of people they can reliably claim read their newspaper.
Why then does the newspaper also charge a paltry fee to "purchase" their newspaper?
Greed, and because they can. The purchaser, the consumer is in fact the product. The advertiser is the customer and always has been.
The same is true of television programs. Getting people to "buy" those shows is peripheral to claiming a huge audience so advertisers will bow and scrape and throw hookers and blow at you in order to get the honor of advertising on your uber-popular show.

That's like saying "bricks are bad because bricks are used to smash peoples' faces, and to build prisons."
Bricks are neither good nor evil, just an enabling device for aiding in the accomplishing of certain things.
Also, commerce is neither good nor evil, just an enabling device for aiding in the accomplishing of certain things.
As it has always been, it is who is using it for what.
