Re: "the overall story was pretty much what I expected."
Can I take this one?
Because it was the right move for the band, in their eyes.
Notice the difference between this deal and the "typical" deal:
1) the band keep the masters;
2) very little of the advanc eis going direct into the band's pocket - it's being invested into the video and production costs; and
3) it has a different method of business.
From the article:
I found this part of our discussion really interesting (and it included a little tangent discussion about the energy that goes into dealing with trolls...), because he was more or less admitting that all of the new opportunities out there were too enticing, and he wanted to spend more time figuring them out, but that process alone was distracting. Interesting stuff.
This is the problem: overly vague, overly permissive to interpretation treaty wordings that are useless to the general public (who have copmparatively few resources to combat this kind of bullshit.)

I can:
1) There are no black unicornsridingn in a clowncar; and
2) Popular is Gangnam Style - paywalls are not Gangnam Style. They are, however, Decepticon Style.
I think it's the least intelligent thing they could have done. Moreover, I think it's highly unethical, from an educatory standpoint, to copyright ethics opinions. After all, they are not, strictly speaking, ideas.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Corporations are people
Here's a hint: It's The Pentagon Papers.
And as for my opinion, I think that both got there for the right reasons. This is not like Roe vs. Wade for example, where the right decision was reached, IMO, but with bad reasoning.
It shouldn't matter where I'm from. Moreover, the US Government wants everyone under its thumb. It's sort of like High Chaos Dunwall, only with less plague.
I find this logic amusing. Mike has zero control over what get's flagged. There's a whole other discussion to be had on whether the community's right, but the fact is that the community have spoken on this.

We can't have problems being solved by extreme measure because then there'd be no more problems for us to solve.

When the public is paralysed by these overly illegal seizures, then will Skynet strike.
