They don't. They make most of their money outside of the US but bring it back in the US in the forms of new jobs and new businesses. That's what engineers do. But seeing as how you fail at understanding that type of prosperity, I'm sure it's just easier to think that Google is a monopoly which twirls a moustache and kidnaps women in their sleep to tie up on railroad tracks.
Of course I understood the site, and I went and looked at it, and I see it shows youtubes that have copyright on them, and people even writing things like "I hope this doesn't get removed". Derr. My God, this is obvious, just go and look.
Neva, a quick reference. Youtube is a SITE. What you're talking about is a LINK. It's why people are not taking you seriously when you rant and rave. You sound like the senators who understand the internet as much as they understand financial derivatives.
So where's your net numbers evidence? I'm supposed to take your assertions as a gospel truth because you have nothing to back you up and artists are, in fact, making more money to do what they do best despite piracy?
OPEN is bad. It has a few good points, but it still imposes a lot of judicial burdens on smaller businesses. What they should do is criminalize false takedown notices and impose MORE restrictions on false takedowns.
Just as a supplement, here's the corporate lobbyist playbook. Jack Abramoff does one good thing in showing how corruption occurs. In this 15 minute interview, you learn how lobbyists get around the rules and how they can learn to influence with donations and gifts to influence policy makers.
He also goes into the vague language problems that occur and how it's used effectively to do exactly what lobbyists want.
Remember Mitch Glazier's disingenuous statements? Right out of the playbook.
Don't forget that foreign websites face the legal loophole of an AG, making unknown and unquntifiable notices to take down sites, with no determination of how much time had to take place between correspondence and take down.

Now as I've done some research into this, more people> are recognizing the need to team up against this corporate corruption.
So the fact remains that people see the corruption and doing something about it. This is why the protests against political corruption has become so prevalent in the US.
