Hey Mr. Carmichael,
Let put that into perspective:
HEY! Lay off the DemocRATS. Just because they want to take away your rights, voice, votes, money -- and, if it existed, your soul -- doesn't mean you get to criticize them. Either way, if you ask them, they'll tell you the world is ending really soon, so it doesn't really matter if they're criminals at this point. [/sarcasm]
Now, her argument, which is not entirely unreasonable, is that it's better to keep such data off the network.
Yeah put it on a PC where anyone with a Winbuilder/PE disk can access it.
"She claims that they weren't counted because she "failed to save the results" in the computer system. She also said that this kind of "human error" is "common in this process.""
I cant resist - You mean a republican was caught messing with votes. Nah never in history. LOL
and then magically turn up just as they're needed? Yeah ok lady.
Sadly, the avg American does not care. Here is a comment from a video I have:
He doesn't need to take money from anyone, but yet it's beeing offered to him
'' ..so what's wrong with that?'' I'm askin the same guestion. Say I can afford to buy
my own house, but still people want to be nice and help me out with some shopping. What's wrong with that? nuthin says I... o.0 I don't get this video...
and
I don't quite see an issue here, regardless. This video lacks merit. Every politician is going to be flawed, why focus on something trivial. Waste of time.
-Typos not mine.
Please enlighten an old guy on hustle. In my day if you hustled someone, you ripped them off in some way.
"charging to hang out with people (which is so gross)"
Sorry, but in my book, that statement would put your band on the douche bag list.
2 instances I will mention(of many), at The Tower Theater. Henry Rollins, after his show, slid out the load door on Ludlow Street, leaned up against the wall and crossed his arms. It was funny to watch ppl walk by and be like is that... LOL Then it was a mob scene. But Mr. Rollins stayed until he spoke with everyone who was there. Instant favorite. Biohazard. They rolled dice on Ludlow street until we had finished loading every piece of equipment, and talked to every fan that wanted to. THATS THE WAY YOU TREAT FANS.
Or how about some people hear music and get moved. Moved to the point where they try to create something else that reflects their interpretation of what moved them. It may just be adding images/video to music in line with the lyrics/subject matter of said music. Or in the case of samples, a beat, 3 seconds of a song that reflects what you are trying to get across, whatever. If I were in a band I would love to see what inspires my fans, and what about my music moves them. Most would feel that way. Our webpage would include imbeds from our fans youtube pages or whatever they use to post videos.
"I'd prefer if it was only done by those talented enough to do well and stay out of jail--that insures real adrenaline fueled mixes get released to the wild." Huh? OK? If you say so.
Must be a youngin. In 1989, this was common. It was not until these kinds of songs became popular, and made money, that the leeches started to say hey, he used a 3 second sample of our song in a 6 min song, lets get paid. Lets liar up, and gets paid. So one did it, and another, then another, then we have the shit storm of lawsuits, and copyright thicket we have today. Go listen to Paul's Boutique and see how many samples you notice, and how entirely different they are from the originals. But I guess gettin paid, or trying to get paid, became more important, than maybe using that to their advantage and maybe even collaborate together with artists that sampled your music to create new stuff TOGETHER to get paid that way. Oh yeah, that requires actual work, and we cant have that now.
"I wish they would do they same in the US with all the stupid teen vampire TV shows and Movies."
And stupid no talent whores that get reality shows too.
And all those stupid high school shows where everyone is gay or on the verge of sex.
And all those stupid CSI-in-every-flavor shows.
This is no different than the cable theft of old, using unofficial means to get cable TV service without paying the cable company.
Proof positive that this tool is some kind of shill for telcos. Any one with a iota of sense can realize that the 2 are completely different, and I cant believe he, in good conscience, uploaded that crap and hit save. Im done.
1's and 0's dont really care about what device they end up on, and neither should an ISP. All that should be noted is how many you used. Sorry I refuse to join his POS blog just to comment, so Ill put it here:
1's and 0's dont really care about what device they end up on, and neither should an ISP. All that should be noted is how many you used. There is no theft, nothing went missing. Now, it may be a breach of contract, but calling people thieves for doing so is extreme, and just makes you look stupid. In the early days of the interwebs, how many ppl used routers although that was considered against ISP's policies? (for more than one machine to be connected at a time.) Thats why there were MAC address clones built into them. How bout this, build your infrastructure to handle the load? How bout this, upgrade you infrastructure to handle newer technologies? Nah, they will just find more ways to wrench every penny out of you, while providing poor service.
Anyway, it is a simple question. Would you rather fall into obscurity, or be famous?
Sell out stadiums, or have 50 drunks in a bar?
It is a no-brain-er.
I have seen many opening acts come through and stand outside the venues (Electric Factory, Tower theater, Spectrum, and the TLA)giving away CD's. They realize that the lost sale, and in this case it is a true lost sale as the were giving away physical disks, was worth more than the CD's were worth in advertising.
Case in point, I got a razor FOR FREE, and damn this thing is great. Really. Now I go and buy blades to refill the razor, and tell everyone I know about their great product.
Even if I stole the razor from a store, the end result is the same. One lost sale due to true theft (not imaginary theft the MPAA & RIAA cry about), but many more in sales of refills, and free advertising by word of mouth.
Give the music away for free, and if its good music, ppl will find ways to support you. Unless your music sucks, or are obvious assholes. PPL will go to shows and buy merch.
But that requires hard work. We cant have all that hard work going on now. Artists need to be able to sit at home to party, do drugs, and oh yeah be creative.
Case#2 Metallica Know how many of their CD's I actually bought? Yeah none. Now... how many shows have I been to? Every one in Philly. They know that album sales cannot sustain the lavish lifestyle to which they have become accustomed to. A paltry 1.6 Million compared to 22.8 million from touring. http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20100301/0257548340.shtml
Case#3 The Grateful Dead
They never gave anything away for free now. Nuff said.
Hmmmmmm. Appears our usual AC trolls are staying far far away from this one. Maybe they are not that stupid after all? Nahhhh just kidding... they are.
