But he gets to sit around while he heals while the mom has to go to jail and is charged. The cop hasn't even been charged yet, probably is still in the hospital or at home.
Considering that everyone in the car was sent to the hospital, their injuries were probably pretty severe.
If the cop wasn't getting preferential treatment, he would be sitting in jail. Or at least fearing for his job.
The cop is off the hook until he feels better. The mother had no such protection. He's even getting paid. Are the other passengers/drivers getting the same treatment?
In this particular case, who was the criminal? Was it the officer who was shot by another officer; was it the officer who shot the other officer; was it the driver; was it the owner of Craig Thomas Expeditors?
If they did that, they'd draw the ire of Google. Google has a lot of money: they could drown the checkpoints in costly litigation after costly litigation. And exposure.

Ah, the "We can neither confirm nor deny the thing you're asking about." Double-speak meaning "Yeah, we're doing it. But since we worded it like this, you can't use this statement against us because it's vaguely-worded." It doesn't really work if you're not in the espionage business.
Depends on how big the company is. If the company is beholden to a publisher, yes. If the company is big enough to be publicly traded, it might be the CEO beholden to the shareholders.
The only thing I can think of that would hurt his bottom line would be to have his rules not pass, or for him to be booted out of office before his ISP overlords get what they want.
And, BTW, for those who are dissing Trump on this, the criminal activities went on for years during the Obama administration and wasn't detected, investigated, and indicted until Trump became POTUS.
That means that either they have become more brazen due to Trump being president, or we are taking a harder look at what happens during immigration because of Trump's nationalist sentiments.

Somehow I don't think using the word exploit was a good choice on the MPAA's part. Isn't exploitation generally considered a bad thing?
