"it makes you wonder what legislators were thinking when they put such a law in place." Come on now really, don't you remember your politics 101 class?!???? "NEVER think, just do and say what the lobbyist pays you to"
I would be happy to see kids educated in basic computer skills so they at least know how to fucking turn on a computer and open a basic application or hell even, dare is say this, fix some of the most basic computer problems O_O!! Although maybe thats a bad thing since geek squad would pretty much be out of business overnight if that happened.
It really is a simple question to answer. Magic, once they have no connection with the internet the magic fairies that live inside your computer will force you, at gunpoint, to buy hundreds of CDs in the hopes that one day the mighty industry execs will take pity and let you and the fairies once again have access to some form of the interwebz.
Maybe Mike should take a picture holding up a Monster energy drink then when they send a C&D he can explain to them how the whole trademark system works
But Mike, those collection people across the pond get to charge users for playing the radio for themselves and their horse so why shouldn't the ASCAP get to do something for ringtones here?
I'm not talking about someone with poor vision or who is blind, its the morons who just kind of walk out into the middle of traffic texting on their blackberries.
I think this is a bad idea since quieter cars are a NICE thing to have, and if your stupid enough to just walk out in the middle of traffic, you deserve what you get :D
And by the time Finland has their 100Mbit internet the US will have 0Mbit internet since everyone will have been accused of file sharing and either been kicked off the internet or fined until they are homeless.
Well you find me an alternative version of a game which I have been looking forward to playing which is legal and doesn't come with DRM and all that other crap they decided to load the second game down with.
You get malware if you don't know what the hell you are doing, more people get malware from clicking links in their email and clicking on every pop-up and advertisement they see on the web through any sort of daily browsing than they do via downloading "illegal" software.
So a grandmother who ALREADY BOUGHT the CDs should be fined $20,000 for downloading the songs regardless of from where? If your selling the downloaded/illegal content sure, if its for personal use then it gets into some grey area of would they have bought it in the first place if they couldn't download it.
