I can't stand mobile sites. 99% of "mobile friendly" web sites cut out navigation aids on mobile. Makes it much harder, if not impossible to find what I'm looking for, thereby missing valuable information too. Now I haven't tried the new techdirt site on mobile, but I hope that hasn't happened.
Yeah, I can see it. If you look at the image very small (like in the thumbnail of the RSS feed), it looks like a women leaning forward while sitting on a toilet.
_A whole bunch of people tweeted at the band, suggesting that instead of buying their latest album, they would just download it and that the band should consider that free exposure for themselves. Now, that analogy doesn't really hold, of course, but the point is clear._
Can you explain _why_ that analogy doesn't work? Seems perfectly legitimate to me. Both are uses not authorized by the original copyright holder.
What if the copyright is assigned to the company? Does that mean 70 years after the dissolution of the company? That could be never. Either way, it's a sad state of affairs.
HBO Comedian John Oliver recently learned this the hard way when Chinese users of popular social networking website Weibo found they weren't able to mention Oliver by name without receiving an error message stating such comments violated "rules and regulations."
If you think that, then you don't know John Oliver.
I have no doubt he knew exactly what would happen.
The thing is, it's not illegal everywhere. Bunny Ranch is one that comes to mind.
As to the article's question: They would sooner see sex workers vanish (they don't care how), then help them in any way whatsoever. Even if that means they die.
If he used this tool to reverse engineer, but doesn't actually use it in his own tool, how is there an automated ban? Or did he use that cheat tool on his own account, and that's why they banned him?
In addition, his tool *can* be used for cheating I presume, in order to see around corners and other cheaty things.
Sorry, that's what you get for trying to work on a game by a draconian publisher. Give Ubisoft's sordid history, he should have seen this coming. I'm not saying Ubisoft is right, but he should have known this was a possibility, especially since others have been banned for using this tool.
It's far better to use a pirated version that you can play offline if you want to make pretty screenshots and videos. This should not be done on an online game.
Maybe I'm being harsh, but this guy was pretty dumb for not thinking he'd get banned.
"(and that was with the first two episodes being aired on broadcast before the real exclusivity period kicks in)"
Not sure where you got that information, but in my area (California), only the first episode aired on CBS. The second episode had to be accessed on All-Access.
Anyway, I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime. I won't be signing up for another service to watch *one* show.
Also, if we already have cable, why can't this be included with our cable service?
The simpler explanation is probably the most likely: Google finally has a way to get back at Amazon for: 1) Refusing to sell Chromcast on Amazon 2) Not allowing Amazon Video on Chromecast.
I'm rooting for Google here, Amazon started this war.
Forgot to add, I've seen Dr Pepper flavored candies before (jelly beans). So it's not a stretch to think they could have Crush branded candy too. Since I, as a consumer, know they have candy, if I see Crush candy, I might think it's from Dr Pepper.
I don't like King anyway, but Dr Pepper has a solid case here, IMO.
"In Germany, where surveillance fears run a little deeper for obvious reasons" Say what? Maybe I've been living under a rock, but no, why Germany is so weird is not obvious. Is it because of some war they didn't fight in the past? Japan was in the same war, and isn't freaking out past 11.

It's truly awful, and pervasive.
I'm so glad I mostly play single player games, as it's already getting to me, and I know multiplayer is way worse.
