I dont think its a suicide. I think its a good approach and they should try to generalize it. Not all movies are made equal why should we pay the same amount to see each one of them? eg. In every theater normal and 3D versions are priced
same. why? Also why should we pay the same amount to watch a cheaply made, transiently funny screwball comedy as opposed to a thoughtful and expensive (in terms of effort at least) movie?
I think filmmakers should have independence to set the ticket price to optimize their earning. It is free market economy after all!
How do you know? Probably he did pay for the air (google for japanese oxygen centers). He doesn't want to breathe the same air we commoners inhale.
Given the rise of bottled water in last 20-30 years I wont be surprised if we have to pay for the air in future.
Coming back to the point, he is also the executive VP of a magazine called http://streamingmedia.com/ . The subscription is free (for both digital/soft copies).
I wonder how he makes money? Or his content is worthless perhaps!
Well.... they are talking about just the sales income. What about all the money they get by threatening innocent people (You downloaded 3 songs. Now pay $30,000 or go to jail).
Probably the accountant did taxes for the lawyer and the lawyer did not had the money to pay him. So the accountant is making him fight embarrassing lawsuits.
BTW, do you know why this lawyer has no money? Probably because the same accountant manages his finance.
How about if your work can be easily replicated? (i.e. you paint a car and that is copied to other cars, and lets say, you put a lot of effort into designing your painting).
I am not saying what he is doing is right, but just that your situation is not comparable to his.
Not me. But many others. I don't download much stuff from tpb (and NEVER share) because I am afraid some RIAA asshole tracking me down and handing me a million gazillion dollar bill just cuz 100 ppl downloaded the song I uploaded.
Until 1912, mail was delivered 7 days a week. As the postal service grew in popularity and usage in the 1800s, local religious leaders were noticing a decline in Sunday morning church attendance due to local post offices doubling as gathering places. These leaders appealed to the government to intervene and close post offices on Sundays
