Wait, so you mean the people who are going to be hit hardest by a recession should not also have to pay as much as possible to prop up a failing business model?
the community college I go to (yes, community college) *requires* use of a student email system (based on outlook online, I think. Doesn't work with Chrome on Linux, is all I know). Frankly, I have gmail hooked into it to pull messages and to send as that email address because the school requires all school related communication must be from your college supplied email address.
I do not, under an circumstances have that email account send anything even barely personal. It is for school and only for school.
As a full time free software zealot, I have personally removed myself from the CC argument, normally putting my non-documentation and non-software under the public domain.

Can anyone explain the US defamation laws? It seems fairly arbitrary, what is the difference between a bad review and defamation?
Though this doctor should be beaten by court order for his utter stupidity. It's just a review. America needs to grow up and stop treating the legal system as a nanny.
I am sorry Mike, but I don't see it. Other than the quote that starts out with "This is first inventor to file,", I don't really see any mention of independent inventors. And it seems to me that congress only cares about the first to file anyway, regardless of how many people actually invent something.
I still think software patents should be outlawed, though.
Re: Re: Re: Re: The problem is that Lulz has committed an unspeakable crime...
more and better sanctions on ISPs would be a start. ISPs putting in filters for outgoing mail would help as well. (and it isn't even a privacy concern, ISPs can/do already read everything you do.)
yes, but what do we do when the sun expands and devours the only earth we have? I would rather a hard life in space then complete destruction of the human race.
Re: The problem is that Lulz has committed an unspeakable crime...
yes. I really wish we could get rid of all spammers across the globe. I am fairly sure that it would speed up the internet in general. But we can't really do anything with this whole "free speech" and international treaties and such.
Our business has over 20,000 dropped (spam) emails a day. over 120,000 a week (over the weekends, rates drop). Assuming the average size is 50KB (rather large), that is over 1GB of useless internet traffic hitting our router(and mail filter) a day. It is a shame.
as nonsensical as that reply was, I am going to try to answer your question:
We have to go into space. There are thousands of reasons, but, to me, the most important one is the fact that we(humans) will go extinct if anything happens to this planet, our sun, or solar system. It is a must that we spread our population across this solar system, and hopefully in time, across many more. We know our sun has about 4~ billion years before it tries to kill us. I hope humanity survives past then.

We block over 30k a day, a little over 200k a week, and 800k a month.
To put that in perspective: our spam firewall let only 35k messages through in the past 30 days. Out of 797k total messages incoming.
Spam is a disease.

And yes, a sue happy population is a very, very, very bad thing, for more reasons than just space travel.
