This is not really a good comparison because the sellers on Ebay were not the ones that left the barn door open to begin with. The sellers can only do what they have available at this point to let one another know if a buyer has not acted in good faith for one reason or another. At this point sellers have two options I can see: Create this list or sell on a different site. I, for one, would sell on a different site.
Actually a properly written article about any controversial subject should include both the positive and negative opinions to account for historical accuracy. Using you example of Ann Coulter, many conservatives will hold her and everything she says in high esteem. Many moderate and liberal minded people tend to think somewhat less of her. In an entry in Wikipedia for Ann Coulter, both of these opinions should be noted.
No on will ever be described as great or positively revolutionary because the people who hate them have just as much ability to post quotes as to why that person sucks . . .
Actually, if you look in an encyclopedia for Sam Houston, whom most Texans revere for some reason, you should find that he did many honorable things in his life for the Cherokee and other nations. At the same time, however, it also should mention something about his bouts with alcoholism, among other things.
Actually, I did not read that as criminal at all. I was under the impression that Mike was referring to anything a parent might find distateful. Whether I, or you, or society in general, agrees is beside the point. A parent's job is to raise their child(ren). Most parents would prefer that their child know how to handle something like 2 girls, 1 cup responsibly. I myself have not chosen to look at it. I am sure after either of my children stumbled on it they would learn to keep an eye out for things like that. Or I can so them as best I know how as a technologically adept person how to navigate the internet based on the individual maturity level of the child.
Actually, Arlen Specter does have a justifiable reason for pushing for this investigation. The National Football League falls under an antitrust exemption, which allows them to operate outside of the various antitrust legislation that Congress has set in place over the last 125 years. Since the possibility exists that the NFL Commissioner condoned cheating to win the Super Bowl by destroying every piece of evidence, this antitrust exemption could, and likely should, be reviewed. Though I am not a lawyer, having knowledge of cheating that affected the outcome of the Super Bowl and destroying the evidence to preserve what amounts to history would jeopardize this exemption.
I did neglect to mention that up to the point that I discovered this subdirectory the customer was kept informed as to what was going on every step of the way.
I was working on a computer one day that was brought into our shop that would not boot. The customer wanted all files in four or five different directories saved, if possible. I tried slaving the hard drive to a test machine, but still could not access the drive. We had recently downloaded a trial version of recovery software so I used that and could view a list of his drive. I could not, however do anything with the directories he wanted recovered with this trial version. We ended up with the full version of the recovery software and I was able to recover the directories he wanted recovered. It was suggested, due to how important some of this data was, to verify file for file, that everything in the directories was recovered. In the course of doing this, I stumbled across a subdirectory of child pornography. Even then, I did not view these files. I sought out the supervisor who suggested verifying files to see what company policy was. It ended up that he was contacted by the police station here. I do not know what ended up happening after that.
The reason open book tests are mor difficult goes beyond the obvious, the book is sitting next to you. Teachers teach an entirely new lesson, that most students take a time or two to process, that yes you have the book if you need to verify information, or something to that effect, but to search for each answer will take longer than the alloted time. Most students arrive, having not studied, ready to use the book as a crutch, and fail the test due to time constraints. Furthermore, what should be noted here is that cramming facts in middle and high school, and college, unfortunately, prepares one to take certification exams, i. e. Cisco, Microsoft, Project Management Professional, because these exams expect one to answer forty to fifty questions from an answer pool of about one thousand. That is too much information to cram into one's head.
