Typical
Doe - pounding on door and yelling "Your apartment is on fire!"
1to1 - "Thanks but please don't tell the neighbors"
Doe - "No, that would be reckless and stupid"
1to1- "We're calling the police to have you arrested for disturbing the peace and attempting to blackmail us by telling our neighbors that our apartment is on fire!"
Indian Court - "Not only shouldn't you have told the neighbors about the fire, but you aren't allowed to tell anyone else about it going forward!"

Here's a thought
Just shift all confiscated funds and property into the Education fund and if the PD seize significantly less then you KNOW what they were up to. If they still seize the same amount....at least it doesn't go in THEIR pockets.

They're being served up from an infinite supply of 1s and 0s.
There you go misleading folks again. The laws of Thermodynamics state you can't really create or destroy anything...it is a closed system. This means that the supply of 1s and 0s is NOT infinite and so now your statement is attempting to force PACER to violate the law!
Shame on you for advocating lawlessness on the internet!
PS - I hope Pai uses this as an argument against web neutrality...that would be a hoot!

Content vs. Transport Encryption...
If I understand correctly, Content encryption would be placing your personal letter inside an envelope with TO & RETURN address info written on the outside. Nobody can read your letter but they can determine where it came from, where it is going, when it went there, etc. Transport encryption would then place your envelope inside another envelope without any of the other info on it and hand-carry it to the destination where it would be opened and then delivered to you.

You should realize that ANY self-regulating industry has ridiculously low or slow standard compliance practices! Look at 1) Congress 2) any law enforcement agency 3) Airlines 4) Legal and Medical fields.
If narcotics companies were self-regulating, instead of Medical Marijuana in many states, we'd have Medical Meth!

Re: Bird is wrong, but Doctorow IMO wanted people to steal scoot
By commenting on the perfectly legal way to purchase said product and convert it for personal use....he is aiding and abetting theft? So by this theory, if I advise you to purchase surplus computers from the government and then replace the OS with one which you purchased on your own, am I aiding and abetting people stealing home PCs and doing the same?

Stretch goals are important!
Okay, so 98% is good but if we work harder, we can reach that coveted 100% goal of false positives!
btw - my alltime fav Dilbert cartoon is the one about safety accident goals and working harder to reach that number since there weren't enough safety accidents the previous year.

Why always so negative?
Instead of claiming that it is wrong 96% of the time, why not be positive and say that it has a 96% success rate at identifying the wrong person?
SEE? that sounds so much better!
