true enough, but SWMBO and i had hopes the idea of getting a lot of coverage through the app would be a workable compromise... as it is, VERY glad to have that alternative, as we have been skipping around and watchign a lot of various sports we wouldn't otherwise watch... hardly watching the olympic satellite channels at all... she kept on top of when most of the gymnastics and swimming stuff was going on that she wanted to watch live, which then pretty much obviated the main coverage on the broadcast channels... now, FAR from perfect in several ways: the aforementioned repetition of ads (something which appears especially prevalent in online programming), weird 'blackouts', and 'coverage will resume shortly' screens for no apparent reason, as well as some other annoyances... but, overall, having the ability to pick and choose which events we want to watch, is how freaking tee vee should be... get this, we even watched events where 'murikans weren't even competing ! ! ! (course, been a number of highly favored 'murikan teams and individuals dropping like, um, DDT'ed mosquitoes... bazika!)
that's an addictive arcade game where you shoot stone balls out of a frog's mouth to match other balls a la bejeweled... um, at least the zuma i am familiar with...
that aint how it works, an abused woman doesnt just show up at those shelters... for one thing, they are often full up, might have to wait for an opening, for the other, the woman is going to be processed and admitted there based on some other advocacy group working on her behalf... its not a walk-in clinic...
...is another person's devil's advocate... i REALLY dont get why people are so wierded out, put off, or upset by so-called trolls: you dont like what they said ? ignore it and move on., what is so fucking difficult about that ? just seems like crybabies who dont really like free speech (and there are FAR too many willing to sacrifice free and unfettered free speech for the sake of 'niceness', those people are fools who can not reason...)
your reading comprehension is lacking: we live on a PRIVATE road that is posted as such; NO ONE but residents and their guests should be using our road (which goes nowhere but our subdivision), BUT all kinds of people do, for mostly selfish reasons... IN GENERAL, we dont care and arent assholes about it... the one time when dipsticks were riding their noise machines in endless loops around our street at high speeds, a neighbor had a talk with them... turns out was an entitled kop and his kids who didnt give a shit we had no trespassing signs on our road, apparently he was a real asshole about it to the neighbor, but he didnt come down our road any more, either... we arent on a through road, we arent on a public road, there is no access to anywhere else that anyone but a utility worker would ever need, so ANYONE walking around a rural area like this IS suspect... you dont like shotguns, then i suggest you not trespass on your rural neighbors property: good fences make good neighbors... (and, no, we do not come out on the porch and rack a shell every time somebody approaches our house, but you arent getting it: we live in an area where NOBODY casually walks by en route to someplace else, if they are here, they meant to be here, not some random walk... besides, the dogs are usually enough to give most people pause...)
1. i live out in the country for a reason: i despise living cheek by jowl with all you dickheads... (absolutely with the self-awareness that i am somebody else's dickhead, arent you glad i volu tarily absented myself from your company?) 2. technically, we live on a privately owned road, but we let horseback riders, etc travel around our road w/ no hassles... we have it posted, and say 'no soliciting', but asshole jehovahs witlesses (sic) still come around, but the dogs keep them at bay... 3. and, NO, i dont want random assholes bothering me, and if a neighbor needs a cup of sugar, they call up, cause we generally not within walking distance... 4. so, yes, if you have a bunch of strangers wandering around our private road and properties asking stupid shit about a stupid game, AND they persist, i will either sicc the dogs on them, pull out my shotgun to see if they get the message, or -last resort- call the donut eaters to take out the trash... 5. i dont dick around on your property for ANY reason, much less a time-wasting idiotic game, respect my property and privacy, too, please...
other than that brief bit of snark, i was pleased to see the point made several times that the 'mean' public are that way BECAUSE the media don't 'listen', don't like to be corrected, and don't serve us 99%, but Empire's 1%... the media shouts one-way to us 24/7/365 and are OFTEN not just 'wrong', but MORE importantly than 'wrong', is what they DON'T cover that is in OUR interests... *AND* they are surprised we are surly and unsympathetic to their capitulation to tee vee brain and the dictates of Empire's media konglomerate... buy a vowel and spell 'clueless'...

AND IT guy who wrote about kind of pointless in that you make it hinge on this person is REALLY contrite, blah blah blah, difficult circumstances, blah blah blah, BUT, WE have no idea what those factoids are... doesn't seem like we should have to remind you that PLENTY of people who get crosswise with the legal system are REALLY contrite, and REALLY regret their actions, blah blah blah... impossible to determine if this was a reasonable exception on techdirt's part, or just capitulating to the same 1% attitude of 'everyone else but me should have to follow the rules' bullshit...
BUT, what about: well, if our robot-driving overlords are so fucking smart, what are the speed limits for ? let weak, pathetic, slow hu-mans go the hu-man speed limit; robot speed limit is 50 MPH more ! ! !
and then... i was thinking of a somewhat parallel alternative future: the car software is hacked such that it overrides whatever the factory set, and had 'maximum' protection for the occupants... i mean, i'm certain the software could never be hacked or overridden or anything... no bugs or nuthin'... cars don't ever have power glitches... ...and they'll be flying by 2017 ! ! !
on the assumption you were being sarcastic, i will try to do the reductio ad absurdum for the klass: why, think if we only had HFV* (* High Frequency Voting, just like High Frequency Trading! cool, huh ?), we could vote thousands of times a second, thus making us, i don't know, like a LOT more democratic ! ! ! in fact, why not just let the computers do all the voting... what ? oh... really ? huh, okay then...
which is why i propose Coin Flip for President ! ! !
unlike the present situation stacked against us, where approximately 99% of the legislation enacted, and judicial decisions are against the interests of the 99% for the benefit of the 1%; President Coin Flip GUARAN-DAMN-TEES that 50% of the legislation enacted and judicial decisions will be TO BENEFIT the 99% ! ! ! that is AT LEAST 49% better than NOW ! ! ! W O W ! ! ! Vote Coin Flip 2016, the odds are in your favor.
surely you know the answer: The They (tm) simply don't care... besides, it makes a mutable law/regulation/guideline/ TOS/ which can be turned on anyone at anytime, so much the better... um, are you still expecting fairness and rationality from Empire ? ? ?
