Then in those cases, turn the camera off. Not a huge thing. The default should be on, though. Trials are not private affairs. They should be public unless there is a very, VERY good reason for them not to be. And in those cases, make only the necessary parts private.
...light off of water? Really? It's due to the fact that the blue wavelength is the most transmissive through our atmosphere. The sky is blue even here in Colorado, the middle of the continent. Seriously, try some science sometime: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/501382
Re: I think it depends on what she was talking about
Have you ever been in a dorm room? If the furthest you can get from your monitor is maybe 7', a 24" or so monitor is fine for watching things on. Hell, I watch movies on my 14" laptop while traveling without any major complaints.
And if you don't care about pro sports, given that they hate having people actually be fans? There's pretty much no reason whatsoever to have cable service.
The problem is that this is based on the short-term economic thinking that's plaguing the people who learned business in the 80's. Profit now is always better than profit later, and thinking more than a quarter or two ahead is just crazy talk.
Hi! It seems you're new to the Internet. The post you're replying to is commonly known as a troll. They pop up from time to time sowing discord and strife. It's best to just ignore them.
You can't. But when it's matched with all the other evidence, it's a good sign he was telling the truth. Life isn't like CSI... there is almost never 100% conclusive evidence. You just have to combine all the evidence and find the story that it tells. No one piece tells everything.
Hulu's execs seem to have a good head on their shoulders. Hell, they started the service... the problem is most certainly the content owners. They're the ones that push down the blocks of different devices and other crap like that. They don't realize that there are more and more of us fed up with paying $50/mo for absolute crap on cable while being locked into using a shitty DVR that will randomly reboot, and so on. I dropped my cable subscription and now just use Netflix and Hulu. If Hulu keeps going the way it is, I'll be down to just Netflix, and I'm ok with that. I don't need the content unless I can get to it on my terms.
The GPL is more of a tool of fighting copyright than keeping code free. The article also glosses over the fact that it guarantees the users have freedom. If you're a company you can use GPL software and know that you will ALWAYS be able to support it. I've run into too many underhanded companies that will sell mostly open-source software with a few tweaks to execs that don't know any better, and then disappear. What do you do then?
Until the legal climate changes, the GPL has a very valid place.
But I'm not behind the whole lawsuit thing. Her claims don't hold water... if she really thought she was being stalked, why didn't she call the police? File a report? Willingly letting that stuff keep happening... it may be just my default "I distrust humanity" viewpoint, but this sounds like she's just trying to get a deep pockets retirement. Kinda like the jerks that pull in front of you and slam on the brakes to get an insurance settlement.
The point is not to replace A $10.00 paperback. It's to replace a COLLECTION of $10 paperbacks. I don't have enough shelf space in my house to hold all the books I'd like to read. A Nook or something similar that isn't tied to an emissive screen is a great idea for me. Since the Nook looks to actually support open standards, and is based on Android, I'm willing to actually risk buying one, and using it for books from Project Gutenberg, and from the other publishers who provide free or low-cost e-books. I will feel perfectly secure buying one because I can put the entire Project Gutenberg library on it, and I won't have to spend more than the $250 for the device. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying all of those books in dead tree format, and having they physical space to store all of them.
Maybe Pandora is hoping that adopting a "scorched earth" policy will make the bottom fall out, and force Congress to reevaluate all of these stupid "performance" fees?
It's the same photo. One is just edited to make her look thinner, and the other to make her look fatter. See how the hair is EXACTLY the same? That is the problem people have with advertising. Not pimples.
