How, if part of their support for their patent application is printouts from academic journals, do their patent apps not get denied for prior art?
They are very clearly showing that somebody else has already done the work. By the time it hits the journals its already (supposedly) peer reviewed so plenty of people know about it. And in a lot of those cases as well wouldn't the researchers already have patents (since they seem forced to get them these days)?
Our patent office is a waste of space and money. Ugh.
If there was somebody with a twitter account like FakeSarkozy they could really make themselves obviously fake by suggesting he wanted laws that were in France's best interest.
A very plausible thought. Those in power do seem to love to push everybody else aside so that they can continue to be the 1%. His job may indeed have run into a lot of hardships after ACTA gets smacked down (which it better).
This makes it really a shame that Kader Arif resigned. Now that there is greater support for shooting ACTA down, having him in that position still would have been quite good.
I am guessing he just didn't see the tide turning so quickly against ACTA so he was resigning to help draw attention to it. Thanks to the US copyright crazies though they pushed way too far with SOPA and it has helped draw worldwide attention to the great overreaches of copyright and 'international agreements'.
As a guy who worked at a state park for a couple summers, at least on the state level Rangers cannot make an arrest. For that they need a minimum of a Conservation Officer.
Not sure if that carries over into the National level though.
The 'wild west' wasn't really so wild.
Inside the towns there were not shootouts all the time and the most recorded ever for an entire year for deaths by murder was five. Even the OK Corral had a grand total body count of three.
I keep wanting to use the wild west wasn't so wild bit against the copyright maximalists, but you guys tend to get to refuting every single thing they say first, so I never end up feeling the need to bring it up.
Your wild west days of wielding copyright take downs and illegally confiscating websites via proxy with ICE are starting to come to a close. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted, because the people are noticing now and you won't be getting away with ridiculous expansions anymore. You free riding copyright maximalist artist exploiters you.
AJ!
You're back!
Welcome back man.
I don't really think you left all those months, but it certainly felt like there was a lack of organized thoughts from the other side. Without you it seemed to pretty much just be ad-hominems and worthless drivel.
Glad you have returned. Can possibly have some reasonable debates now.
What does that have to do with the studios constantly wanting to pay them less and trying to fire as many of them as possible to funnel money to the higher ups?
Next thing you know they are going to want to charge me since I use bottles that were from bottled water, and I refill them with filtered water.
I am sure there is an infringement joke in there somewhere ...
