Now, if only Credo had an unlimited data plan, I would probably switch to them in a heartbeat... :-( Unfortunately, I will have to keep my grandfathered AT&T unlimited data plan for now.
A few years ago, I had to check in some luggage with my 1904 Gibson mandolin. The mandolin was in its hard-shell case, wrapped in bubble wrap, inside an aluminum suitcase, with TSA-approved locks. Of course, they broke into the case, dropped the mandolin, and caused $100s in damages to a unique instrument... Fortunately, it was repairable, barely. This is an instrument that has been played by the likes of David Grisman and Andy Statman (2 of the top bluegrass and jazz mandolin players in the world). Now, I NEVER check it in - I carry it onboard if I need to travel with it. At least the case is small enough to do that...
They are well paid by the cable and wireless companies to make sure that government agencies such as the FCC and FTC are rendered powerless. They don't care what it will cost their constituents and the rest of the American public! I think there should be a law that no representative can vote for or against a law that comes under the influence of any organization they took more than $5 from in any form (funds or favors).
Yeah, as in we all love our cable and wireless providers so much as they give us exactly what we want... capped data plans, over-pricing, add-on charges that we never agreed to (except possibly on page 10,000 of the fine print in the purchase agreement), and rate hikes every few months... I say, screw the bastards!
I recently got a call from AT&T (I have business U-verse internet), offering to "upgrade" my U-verse from 25mbps to 45mbps, at "no cost". After some digging and questioning of the rep who called me, I find that my $80 monthly internet bill will go to $145 - "no cost" indeed! What a bunch of dishonest, disgusting, liars!
New, useless, redundant laws don't help. Enforcing existing ones may work if people stop running around in circles like a chicken with its head cut off...
Established companies are very much afraid of innovators who "break the model", forcing them to adapt to a world they no longer understand - witness the record and movie industries. Talk about being "stuck in the past"! They are so stuck in the quagmire of their own making that all they can do is yell "HELP!", and then pull those trying to help them down with them into oblivion...
This is why one should ONLY use open source software. When you are wedded to commercial closed-source software, you are at the mercy of they company that makes it. If they go out of business, or sell to another company, all bets are off and you may be left holding onto nothing while floating over the Grand Canyon!
Isn't that a term for "let's ignore this stuff"? Feinstein wasn't a bad Senator when she was first elected, but somewhere along the way she became corrupted by ... the NSA, CIA, DOJ, ??? Who knows, but she became the cheerleader for these dickheads! The current crop of Goposaurs is even worse!
When the government has all of the "pieces", who is going to keep them from joining them all? The leaders of the NSA, FBI, DHS, DOJ, et al should be fired for being incompetent in their jobs!
Why not charge the teacher with felony stupidity? Kids will be kids and do this stuff. The teachers are supposed to be smarter than that! Bad sheriff! Bad sheriff! Your kid is next...
And we are here to help you - help you become frightened bunnies that will do whatever we tell you to! We will lie, scheme, rip you off (and blame it on "terrorists"), and then shut the door on your freedoms! Thanks, but I think Snowden is better off in Russia!
