I think it's a telling sign that they based a movie on that stupid game.
Though it is impressive how they can make
"E-7"
"You sunk my battleship!"
into a 1.5hr-long movie.
But it's insulting to think that they actually expect people to pay for and watch it.

Absolutely. And indeed, making that informed decision and knowing what a computer does/is capable of doing would be a boon to know for judges and politicians (or their experts) worldwide.
Sadly, more often than not, even when confronted with experts in the field, these politicians stick their fingers in their ears and shout: "LALALALALA, I DON'T WANNA LEARN!"
I need to correct you, MrWilson, on one important aspect, that often gets overlooked. It's not 'the life of the author + 70 years', but 'the life of the copyright holder + 70 years'.
And given that it's possible to sell copyright to someone else, and apparently companies can buy copyrights (because according to US law, companies are people too). We have a defacto eternal copyright:
- "Eep, I'm dying, better sell my copyrights."
- "Eep, the deceased had a lot of debts, but also owned a lot of copyrights, better sell those."
- "Eep, when exactly does a company die?"
As for the renaming a folder of files, sometimes I have very specific wishes for the filenames, and none of the tools I have at my disposal (and I have plenty) fits the bill exactly.
I could create a bash script to do it, but by the time I've written that one, and concluded that it works the way I want it to, I'd been better off doing it by hand. :)
But I agree, that would be something best done automated.
Should I now be worried that French singer-songwriter could sue me based on me having the nickname MadJo on the internet (and have been using that nickname since around 2005)?
Yes, the Dutch can smoke weed in The Netherlands, foreigners now have to get it from streetdealers, as they are barred from coffeeshops (at least from the ones in the south of NL). Which is another 'great' idea by our government.
We also are allowed to download software from illegal sources, just don't upload that floppy.

To bolster that claim, they can have sock puppets 'illegally' upload content to Kickstarter.
