Stirring the pot or as you say, "being deliberately provocative". The only thing that is a puzzle is the increasing us vs them attitude but I may be just noticing it more.
As for the word shill? It is a word that is usually part of Argumentum ad Hominem. I really don't care who agrees or disagrees with whom. I like to see better dialogue but that is not human nature -- the dialogue will be pretty much, as every forum user/mod knows, "from all points of the compass".
I'll try to keep a lid on poking folks in the ribs with a stick.

A Good Result in a pinch - this is not a personal bitch blog.
I think making a deadline with a blank page is like somebody throwing their bubblegum on the floor. It sticks in the mind and is hard to remove; untidy at best.
If a weekly op-ed goes in the bin because nobody is submitting an article -- that is called fact of life in writing. There is no shortage of ideas but getting someone to actually do the work is scarce paid or not paid. Weekly op-ed being done weekly is golden. Google newspaper business editorial writers. Don't forget to recycle ideas; things change.

+- Unsupported inference - strike out in record.
Can't CwF if fans don't want to CwYou.
|
+- By its self the statement has the ring of truth in it.
If fans do not want to connect they are not fans. A fan usually wants to
connect with the entity they are a fan of. If said entity does nothing,
CwF is still a valid description because, "the presence of the entity is
CwF", although minutely.
Saying non-fan does not want to connect to entity via CwF method is frivolous. Therefore, the statement is sophistry.
You need to make a statement using "some kind" of proof. Farting in a jar is more than adequate to prove flatulence has odor, providing it is sealed properly. Your statement is the word equivalent of passing gas in an elevator full of people.

The search engine finds Stuff. Stuff is made attractive by people. If it isshiny to the search engine's eye it is important. Much work is done to make search engine fall in love with important:
1. content is not important to search engine; waste product.
2. people need to fit search engine with new reading glasses now and then. content colors them rose.
3. if [find stuff] was easy a search engine would not be necessary. And as a by product no spam content that looks like important content.
"Yes, it's frustrating to see roadblocks, corruption, monopolies and other efforts designed to hinder such innovation. It's frustrating because we know they're not necessary, and serve only to slow our own opportunities to experience great innovations. But, remain optimistic that as those roadblocks are cleared away, there will continue to be so much more that's wonderful to be optimistic about."

I spent time in Norman/OK City. I am shocked that it took 2 courts.
the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals has upheld a lower court's summary judgment against Brill,
If he goes to court again then he has more money than brains.
For my notes: adding "publicity rights" to the category "copyright industry" as a child of it. A delinquent one at that.
I Could not believe the banner ad was placed where it was and the duration was doubled. I knew the update was trouble when saw the size if the app - 14MB!
I took the complain often and politely on Twitter stance. They heard. Will the next update have changes? I really have no idea but, I got their attention and they will do whatever they think is going to work best. They need to experiment some; others need to turn down the in your face placement message. Like the clips above.
I remember that presentation. Had to find an antacid after watching it. That said, of course CDBaby was dissed. Reason? Mr. Jobs handles competition with that sort of attack. CDBaby was simply doing a service for the artist at "cover the expense of handling not labor of making price", as I understand it.
There is a reason CDBaby is the first place I go when I want hard copy. The price point is good for disk format (uncompressed audio) and it has a fair price on MP3s. Amazon is 2nd because of inventory of disks and has an ok price on MP3. There is no number three, unless it is all the other sources lumped together. I don't buy music on itunes (DRM used as marketing tool to get a higher price and product mix).

For anyone that has "Iron Man 2" listen to the commentary audio over the credits and then tell everyone the consumer market will be download or streaming movie format because Hollywood is not going the iTunes way. The physical CD/DVD distribution channel is not going to be mass market but will be seen in the same light as vinyl is seen today. It will be a slow and painful transition.

I use T-Mobile so I can safely say their model is a little different - the
family plan dog pile. Instead of caps the Data Plan (today) is both
unlimited and middle priced. But it is per phone and as far as I recall
mandatory. Looking at a bill it looks like a cable bill. The $35 data plan is
reasonable for now. But what if 5 phones (mom,dad,3 kids) are type
android/blackberry/winmobile? Pile on!
From My Account on G1:
FamilyTime Basic 49.99 (50)
additional lines 9.99 (10)
php bundle 5.79
G1 plus Service
(data) 34.99 (35)
-------------------------
total 100.79 (round numbers in parens)
note: 3 lines 3 phones (blackberry, g1, dumb phone) = average bill 140.00
Wonder if T-Mob customer base will grow at the expense of AT&T? They
live for 'stealing' each others customers so T-Mob should keep an
unlimited plan with price low. Well, I don't have a crystal ball but caps are
what will drive people out.
Indeed. But only in twitpic's eye. Also the compete angle is overblown. twitpic is not a blog in the sense Posterous is. I store pictures then post to twitter is its function. Posterous is a timeline blog with pictures. Who is stepping on who's feet. I speak from not having Posterous /user/account.
