Actually it's pretty brilliant. The MPAA gets to say that they tried, oh how hard they tried, to reason with us freetards, but the fact that it failed only proves that we freetards don't want to pay for our entertainment. And probably something about starving creators.
Meanwhile DirecTV got some free publicity. I'm ready to bet that more than one would be customer who was put off by the insane price-tag rented a cheaper movie instead. Add to this that they just shifted the full blame onto the moviestudios, and BAM: great marketing!
Now, the theaters might have been left out of the loop on this one, which is wrong, but they will probably realize that it wasn't a serious attempt anyway.
You are not very good at explaining, 'cause the way I read it you basically just repeated what Mike wrote - that given enough time one of those monkeys would recreate Shakespears work.
That sounds a lot like you have some weird AddOn that fucked up. I now have 3 tabs + 2 "app tabs" open, and it runs fine on about 250 MEGAbytes of memory.
That's not the copyright that is being transfered, it's the physical medium used for submission. Also pretty standard.
While I'm not a lawyer, I would say that that part does NOT cover a transfer of copyright. If it did, they wouldn't have had to bother with all that legalese later.
Re: Bandzoogle site: a lie, deception, and inflated number.
Your point would only stand if we assume that Bandzoogle try to hide their fees. I have a feeling that's not the case.
Please stop assuming that everyone is a moron, and let them take the chances they want to take. That's whats so great about this new age; everyone has option to take the chance.
Re: Re: Re: Before you go wild with glee, /think/ about this:
"It should also be pointed out that Mike is playing games here, because he is comparing apples and oranges. I would love to see what the merch numbers are for major touring acts, and what their net "per customer" transaction is overall. I am better that it is higher than $28!"
But how many would have been able to get signed? And how many of them would have been able to turn any kind of profit?

And then just wait until a "virtual monkey" actually get one work right?
*hmmm*
So what we need is a pretty beefy computer and patience. Damn, can't seem to find the last one.

Re: Patentable Definition
If it can't be "translated" into a "blueprint", then it's not patentable.
AND the patent only covers that specific "blueprint", not other things that looks like it, leaving the door wide open for independent inventions.

2 hours later and it's now up to a staggering 300 mb. Admittedly, the fact that I now have 4+2 tabs open might have something to do with it.
You do use the latest (stable) version right? 'Cause I remember there being a major bug a couple of versions ago.

Less RtB, more OtB!
Originally I had highflung demands of High-Def content (I'm mostly interested in movies and tvshows) without DRM.
Now I'll settle for "able to play the content on my HTPC". It even runs Windows 7!
And yet I can't find a service that are willing to deliver. At least not here in Sweden. :-(

About the bins; I should have clarified that it seems to only apply to the Underground. Although, I do agree that you need a lot more in general. ;-)
