Right along with that is the stupidity of how limiting they are being on things while increasing speeds. Verizon is now bragging about 4G and how great it is but not offering a usable plan.
It is kind of like your house having a main water line coming in that is a 2inch pipe. It has been doing ok but you would not mind having better hookup, so next thing you know the water company tells you they are installing a 10inch pipe direct to your house. Your going to have amazing water pressure BUT your limited to 1 gallon a month with your basic plan or you can upgrade to the max plan of 10 gallons. Oh, and you will get charged heavily for going over.
I'm sorry but the " Then you might consider not doing that stuff on mobile." solution does not work well for me. I'm paying for a service and I'm going to use the service. It is stupid to market such a broad band connection with such a limit.
What is the point of 4G if all you are doing is mail, messaging and the like? Yes they don't use much bandwidth and will keep you under your limit but if that is all your doing WTF are you paying for high speed for? Can do all those things very well on 3g.
They are offering a service that has great potential (a potential I am greatly enjoying) and then limiting it so people cant use it. You know, like how I can watch netflixs in full HD on my phone...
Not only arrested for treason but should be tried and if found guilty receive the punishment for treason. Of course if we actually start doing that for all the politicians committing treason we will end up executing over half of Washington.
Having recently upgraded to a Verizon 4G LTE phone I find this whole mess stupid. I changed over to a new Razr just before the changes Verizon made to prevent people from keeping unlimited data. So I am now one of those lucky ones who jumped through some loopholes to get 4G and unlimited data.
With this I started looking around and doing some tests. The results kind of shocked me honestly. When I got the phone I did not realize how fast 4G can go and was amazed doing a speed test on the phone I got a download speed of 37Mbs.
I then sat there a bit shocked and started to do a bit of math. Verizon with their current plans top out at 10GB a month at a cost of $100 extra a month. 10GB at 30Mbs takes little over 50 minutes to burn.
So they are selling you broadband that if you actually use it for 1 good hour out of the month you have used all your data and went WAY over. What kind of plan is that?
Yet another very clear signal that this government is out of control. These things they are going after reporters for is the VERY REASON that we have the 1st amendment.
Freedom of speech is supposed to allow us to talk out about the things we do not like about the Government. That is the very point of it. Now the Government is trying to pretend that if they put a big red classified stamp on something then they can get away with it.
It is time for the people to wake up and realize what is happening. Our government is out of control and trying to run every aspect of our lives. Their methods are simple, they just keep screaming about terrorist or that it is "for the children".
It makes me sick seeing how much freedom has been taken away "for our own good". FUCK THAT. I'm much more afraid of what my own damn government is trying to do that I am of any "terrorist".
I wonder is their real worry is interference with some equipment they are using. I can imagine a stand full of people with several hundred of them all tossing out wifi would cause that 2.5ghz range to get mighty noisy.
I can see how one could argue a sales tax only system hurts poor. I personally think there are ways to put such a system in place that will account for that.
For example, no sales tax on food, and by food I mean real food, tax candy and junk. By selecting certain things to be tax free you are able to actually keep cost of living very low while getting tax money off of things that are not needed for survival.
It seems to have been quite a while. I suspect that it will start to matter a lot more to them before too long though. A lot of people here in the US are getting sick of those in power ignoring the Constitution.
You mean the two steps back that are bound to follow?
I guess I'm just a bit paranoid but seems like this country is striving hard to become a police state. Makes me a little weary of celebrating things too quickly.
You don't have to sell your soul to run for president, now to win..... yeah probably do have to sell soul to win.
I always thought it would be nice though if someone would run for President and be brutally honest. Just stand up and say "I don't give a fuck what the public wants I'm going to go do what the fuck I want". I think I would probably vote for him. Be refreshing to at least have a guy who is honest about it.
Hmm, you know, not a bad idea, Mike should run for President. Why not after all? Certainly not much competition to speak of. Kind of frustrating going to vote when you look at your options and realize your not picking the one you like but instead trying to pick the one you least hate.
Guns are a tool. Will banning guns lower the number of deaths caused by guns? Yes. Will it lower the number of murders? No.
My point is your blaming the tool not the person. If someone is setting out to murder someone they will do it. A gun is not needed to do so. You take away the guns and they will use other things.
So what you going to do? Ban guns and they use bows, ban bows and they use blowguns, ban blowguns and they use throwing stars, ..............
Violent people are violent people. Quit blaming the tool and start figuring out how to catch the people instead. What your doing is like blaming a car for vehicle deaths. I mean just imagine how few deadly accidents we will have on our roadways if we just outlaw vehicles.
Guns have a lot of legitimate uses. Living on a farm I use can tell you there are many uses for a gun that few things could replace. I just recently used one to deal with a venomous snake. Sure I could have used something else, but not with the same level of safety a rifle gave me.
Also, what do you think would happen when you take all the guns from hunters? You think it is bad now with how often people hit deer in the road, just wait and give them a few years to breed with zero predators.
Yup, we could ban guns and move on to people stabbing each other. The point is this guy had a problem. I don't care what laws you have in place he would have done something.
Outlawing guns will not get rid of them. It just makes them harder to get and more expensive. So quit pretending that outlawing them gets rid of them. If making something illegal gets rid of it then WTF is up with all the drugs?
You would be surprised. A lot of people love to point to the "wild west" saying we don't want to go back to those days. The thing is if you actually look back at those days they were not so "wild" as people think. Yes everyone has a gun, it was needed to protect yourself in the wilderness, but there were not shootouts every day at noon or any of that bull shit.
If more responsible citizens carried guns then this kind of thing would be less common. If your a thug and have a gun you feel invincible, until you realize everyone around you also has one, then your on a level playing field. Most crooks are bullies and if there is one thing a bully hates it is a fair fight.
I would like to point out there are already gun control laws, and they don't work. There was a shooting near where I live, some thugs robbed a gas station and then shot and killed the two guys working there.
They arrested the thugs and what would you know, they were felons. It is illegal for felons to have guns..... so by your wonderful "make it illegal and they won't have it" logic, this must have never happened. There is no way these felons had guns, I mean it was ILLEGAL.
You really think a guy like this that plans out a mass killing really gives a damn about if his gun is legal or not? Criminals DON'T FOLLOW THE LAWS.
