Oh Leigh.. *shakes head* when will you understand?
We've had these problems for ages, but because they're happening on the internet, which is new, scary and full of pedophiles and people who steal (yes, steal) films, they must be stopped.
These are issues.. on the internet. By default, they are now bad and new.
Yes, the internet, the very medium that identified, tracked and helped capture the murderer, is a bad thing. Let's ban it at once, because clearly, it's just evil.
To be honest, I just picked the first web error that came to my head, which incidentally happened not to be vandalism by hacking. Replace 'server error' with 'making off-site backups' and my point stands anew - which was 'why attribute the errors to vandalism and not an entirely innocent reason?'
Ok, maybe I should look at things before I post, but my point still kinda stands - if you weren't around for her earlier success, you would still have no idea who she was. The label didn't initiate her second wave of support.
Although, I'll admit, I haven't a clue who Fiona Apple is so I could be talking out my arse... Shame I can't delete comments, but hey ho, talking rubbish is par for the course for me :)
Her album leaked with no help by the labels, fans got excited with no help from the labels.. the only reason the label got involved in the first place and released the album was because of the enormous fan support.
"130% is not a 30% markup of a $1.00...$1.43 is.Do the math!"
Pardon my apparent stupidity, but I'm afraid I don't understand this. I thought 130% of 100(i.e. $1) was 130 i.e. $1.30?
How can you say that 100 plus 30% equals 1.43? Sure, 70% of 143 is (roughly) 100, but you don't start from 143..
What might be confusing me is the switch between "130%" and "$1.43" but even when I look at them separately, I still see errors. "130% is not a 30% markup of $1" - well, it is, actually.. "a 30% markup of $1 .. is $1.43" - well, it's not though. It's $1.30.
Granted, it's been a few years since I had to memorise it, but to me, it doesn't seem right.
Also, to the original AC - you're stupid and you should be ashamed. Not only for the original comment, but for making me confused.

Re: Evidence
Film, not camera. As in, it's what the camera recorded, i.e. the data, that's seized, not the phone.
CCTV cameras aren't seized by the cops if they observe a crime.
