why is it brick and mortar stores need to charge sales tax but others doing business in the state don't? (yes, I know about the Supreme court decision).
It is time to allow states to charge sales tax to help balance their books. Be fair to everyone.
I would be careful of using a sworn affidavit in trying to getting off charges.
He still threatens his ex-wife and still put the GPS unit on her car.
No defense on the GPS in my opinion. As for the threats, just because he "thought" it was his ex-wife, doesn't mean he could break the law - affidavit or not. Child services may still get involved.
a legal battle is a battle to the death where there are no rules. You need to do what it takes to win. If you lose, the results can be very bad for you. And you can lose a lot of money.
The original idea was from Red Hat where it is just better to settle than to fight. Here the lawyer says, look at how much time and money it will cost you and if it is too much, then settle. Now it is an accounting issue.
With the same reasoning, why send people to jail? The crime has already been committed and going to jail will only cost the public money, and not change anything. Cheaper to say the accused was a bad boy.
We have jails to act as a deterrent. You fight lawsuits to make it clear to other patent trolls you will fight in court and not give up when you are served the legal papers.
what a bunch of hypocrites. On the blog page, there are links to a pdf file from the Harvard Business Review and 2 pdf's from the New York Times. Others can't copy but they can.
people don't like answering phone calls because they have to do something. Emails can be put off - I haven't read it yet. But phone calls must be answered then and there.
So most people will never pick up a phone. They will let it go to voice mail.
One phone call is much more effective than sending emails or text messages back and forth.

And what if the person was not his ex-wife?

Just last week one day was almost 6gb. Seems someone in the house downloaded a free demo of 4gb. It was a bad game to boot.
On the post: Is Tethering Stealing Bandwidth?
bad arguement
And you do "use up" water like bandwidth. Space is just a different measure of usage, just like weight of the vehicle or number of axles would be.
And I just took out a contract with Bell Mobility (Toronto). Tethering is included. Rogers wanted more money - calling it "adding a device."
