'Guys, come on now. People won't feel as safe if they know exactly many crimes we commit and sweep under the rug! We want people to buy the propaganda, not worry about all the dangerous sociopaths with guns and a license to kill!'
Boy, that heterophobia sure is a thing, not a day goes past without a gay on straight hatecrime, or someone in a seat of power coming up with a terrifying new law designed to punish people for heterosexuality. As a gay male, I am loving all the power I have, I sure don't have to deal with casual homophobia and hostility in my day to day life and I sure haven't been threatened when out with my gay and trans friends.
Republicans seem to have gotten a bit mixed up. In the old days, the Republican party platform was government so small it can dictate what you do in the bedroom, not the boardroom.
I must have missed all the times democrats stormed the seats of power in places like Michigan with assault rifles, when democratic groups organised faux riots to try and stop vote counting in swing states to attempt to disenfranchise minority voters and steal an election, and I definitely missed when a democratic president and lawmakers whipped up a crowd of lunatics with fairystories about elections being stolen then setting them loose on the seat of power. I also missed all the left wing groups at the heart of said riots, planning to kidnap and murder people... But hey, both sides, right.
I'm not so sure about that, if Murdoch's papers are doing so poorly they need the income from the government taxing Google, they won't win any more sales by doing something that blatantly harms the public in their day to day lives and reeks of corruption.
Murdoch has turned making people vote against their interests into an art form and gets away with it because the effects aren't immediate, while Google withdrawing and blocking australia would be.
Oh good, it's aboput time someone stood and fought the Rupert Murdoch Protection Acts.
Australians are about to find out what's more useful in their day to day lives, Google's services, or Rupert Murdoch's newspapers. I don't think Rupert will win that fight.
Tom Cotton wanted the troops dispatched to crack down on people protesting because the police are murdering them without suffering any sort of consequence for their actions.
The Democrats had to put troops in the street because the right wing committed a terrorist attack in the capital and threatened more. They broke into the seat of power, planning kidnap and murder to install a tyrant.
One is an attempt to get support for a crack down on minorities and the left practising their freedom of speech, the other is trying to make sure the far right can't get close enough to murder the president. OMG, THEY'RE BOTH THE SAME, GUYS!
Unfortunately Biden's going to have to spend most of his presidency removing unqualified Trump appointees who care more about partisan politics than doing their job. Shame the judges are all lifetime appointments.
Conservatives believe they should be a protected class, while simultaneously demanding all protections put in place to defend actual persecuted minorities should be abolished as conservatives can't be as mean to them as they used to be, therefore that means they're not necessary.
So what exactly is it about Facebook that makes you feel they're biased against the right? Is it Zuckerberg having off the record meetings with Trump? Is it the fact they appointed the Daily Caller as fact checkers? Is it the way it took an attempted coup to make them start banning far right conspiracy theory groups rather recommending them as they were doing and helping them to reach? Is it the way any attempt to fix the algorithms and stop right wing liars like Ben Shapiro and Dan Bongino being the most widely shared news sources is blocked by management? Is it the way reputable left leaning news sources like Mother jones are actively pushed down the rankings by facebook themselves? Is it the way former GW Bush admin member and Roger Stone associate Joel Kaplan is positioned to control political 'fairness' within the company and has openly worked to attack the left and block any attempt to fight the platform bring used as a recruitment tool? Is it the way the board of the company itself is filled with republican and libertarians? Is it the way the site treats the likes of Brietbart as trusted news sources?
They are anything but biased against the right, any attempt to claim otherwise is utterly disingenuous. This isn't the Spanish inquisition, this is a toothless board put in place as a PR move that can only make recommendations that the company will ultimately overrule.
They'll issue a toothless ruling that's 2000 pages long and vague enough it an be interpreted a million ways when a simple 'Ban' or 'not' would be a million times more useful. Facebook will reinstate him regardless because they're actively biased toward right wing content and his presence will drive traffic. That's more important to them than any damage he'll cause to American democracy.
It's worth noting that Arizona disenfranchises felons and making saying ACAB a felony sure would make it easier to disenfranchise a lot of minority and left wing voters.
I think the world would be better with a blanket ban on political ads, force politicans to actually lay out clear platforms and debate oneanother rather than retreating and hoping dark money groups can sling enough mud at their opponents that people overlook how awful they are the way Perdue did.
You don't get elected in the UK without Rupert Murdoch's support, the leaders of the conservatives, new Labour and the SNP have all bent the knee, and we've seen what happens to those who say no.
Thanks to his handling of covid, the internet, whistleblowers, journalists and the truth, the Florida GOP have already tapped him for a gubernatorial run once Ron DeSantis leaves office.
So the horrendously coded Parler is getting into bed with sketchy Russian cybersecurity companies, huh? I bet the right wing celebrities are feeling pretty good about giving their drivers license and other personal information to them right about now. Enjoy the identity theft, racists!
