I generally agree with you but you lost me in the 8 years hiatus. There was plenty of noise. It's just that this administration is so ethically bankrupt that it *seems* like the media is bashing it more constantly. It's not, it's the constant, very fetid flow of sewage that comes from this govt that generates so many news. I've been in this world since the 80's and from my short experience it seems to be the norm for Republican governments (though not as viciously as it is with Trump).
Lies. Google employs gazillions of slave gnomes that prepare and send search results on the fly when you hit enter. All gnomes are left-wingers of course, bred with water from Stalin's last bath and conservative baby blood.
Most anti-cheating mechanisms are just fireworks at best and a hindrance for non-cheaters at worst. I said most. In any case, given how Denuvo DRM was both I would bet with you.
Still, I seriously hope somebody can come with a cheat-proof system. Maybe when games start being streamed to users pcs instead of running on them? (God forbid this becomes the norm)
Some say even this limit is arbitrary. Services should allow password managers and impose no restrictions at all if possible while also providing solid 2FA. Google has reported that no employee has fallen victim of phishing attacks since they made the use of physical keys as a 2FA (guess they re using Yubico stuff).
NJ screwed up. Badly. If this came from their iT staff then they should fire the ones responsible.
If you had informed yourself about password policies before posting your petty attacks you'd have realized that, empirically speaking, people tend to fuck up when you impose expiration dates on passwords by choosing sequential, dumb keys their biological, limited memories can actually remember. You can visit Troy Hunt's blog for very good tips and Have You Been Pwned site for more insight on bad password practices and how common they are.
At the very least I'd be smart enough not to choke the customer downstream with a dial-up upstream.
And you bet I will build my own isp if I get the opportunity (ie: money). And you can bet it'l be a wonderfully dumb pipe that delivers speeds as advertised. Well, my current isp already does it but it's pretty regional, I want to reach as many as possible.
The up speed is laughable. It's maddening how ISPs tout downstream speeds as if they were the only thing you should care about. I mean, my friend complained the other day that when she used her 100 mbit connection heavily (ie: multiple Netflix hd streaming, downloading and whatever) she couldn't send anything through. Her up speed: 5 mbit. No, seriously, a goddamn 100 mbit connection with 5 mbit upstream. I explained her how even when downloading you upload data to maintain the connectivity and how 5 mbit was a joke for her downstream. She realized why cloud stuff and uploading would take so long. In the end she switched providers because that ISP didn't offer bigger upload speeds (WTF?!) and she's in the same plan I am with 50 down/35 up.
25/3 is bullshit. Shouldn't the US be leading the world? 100 mbit symmetrical is the bare minimum then.
"Stop using your phone number as the master password to your life. Stop using cryptocurrency banks."
It's not the password, it's either a recovery method or a 2FA device. I do agree that we should avoid using phone numbers to such ends due to their inherent insecurity (though having the phone as a 2FA is better than having nothing). However, it doesn't invalidate the fact that telcos have to fix these issues because even if you don't use the phone as any of those, having your line taken over may pose all kinds of problems outside cryptocurrency.
As for the stop using cryptocurrency banks I'd say cryptocurrencies need to include some sharing of functions of a wallet if the owner needs to. The banking system has many perks we use other than simply storing cash and cryptocurrencies as they are now are not ready to replace banks.
It can't be emphasized enough. We must not forget history and hiding it leads to oblivion. Also, if you are a psychologist or a patient receiving therapy you know that to overcome our problems we have to face our past and get over it.
I'd say that Germany is finally getting psychologically ready to overcome their past.
I hope the punitive damages get inflated to billions. It's a very serious issue that has to be addressed and if they aren't going to do it to provide a better service then let's make them do it because it hurts financially not to do it.
