Anarchy
–noun
1. a state of society without government or law.
2. political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control: The death of the king was followed by a year of anarchy.
3. a theory that regards the absence of all direct or coercive government as a political ideal and that proposes the cooperative and voluntary association of individuals and groups as the principal mode of organized society.
Not sure what you mean by 'lack of orders' and not 'lack of order.' It's a lack of law or government.
To those who state they should have just 'done as they were told,' it stands that you need to be reminded of this country's history. This country was not founded by people who were meek in the face of unjust law and brutal authority. The meek may inherit the Earth (if you're of a Christian bent), but those who stand for what is just and proper are the ones who make their mark in history, and in the hearts and minds of the people.
We, as a country, have the right to change our government when it gets out of hand. We have a right and a duty to stand before our government and its authorities without fear and declare what we think is wrong, and to work against our own elected officials to correct these wrongs.
If you do not have the moral integrity, or the intestinal fortitude to put yourself in harm's way for what you believe in, then stand aside and let those who do, do so. Decrying those who would stand for your rights is counterproductive, to say the least.
As a transplant recipient (and being relisted for another transplant since the other 'only' lasted 9 years), I can tell you it's already illegal to sell organs in the US and most of the 1st World countries. Now if they'd harvest from convicts on death row...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Apple can refuse to sell to you.
Any business can refuse service to anyone they wish so long as they are not receiving government funding. If you think you are being discriminated against you are free to file a civil action, but it certainly isn't illegal to refuse to sell.
Trust me, the 'unsuspecting web user(s)' who stumble upon this site via Google can comprehend what is being discussed just fine. Your attempts at obfuscation and coal-raking aren't doing you any favors.
Actually, it's a law that compels people to pay GEMA, the German collection society, regardless of who they are. Including the artists, themselves. How much of that money do you think the artists actually see?
Internationally respected news organizations?? REALLY!? Not the US organizations, that's for certain. Those are pretty universally dismissed as one-sided propaganda engines.
The fact that they are blatantly in violation of Yelp's TOS, that all postings have a 5-star rating, and they are using fake, throw-away email addies pretty much puts the nail in the coffin so far as public opinion goes.
The recording industry isn't the music industry. They are to music what truckers are to canned goods. The delivery system. The delivery system has changed, they just do not wish to change with it.
You're still laying the fault at the feet of the wrong people. Again, the stream provider is not sending a standard download. Streams are buffered, but the buffer does not reside on the hard drive. To convert it so it does so takes an act on the user side, thus making any 'downloading' their fault.
Re: Google does nothing because it is in Google's interests to do nothing.
What I find most amusing is this fantasy that one business gets to tell another business how to /do/ business. ANYone tries to tell the entertainment industry how to make money, and people like you come whining and crying and pointing fingers, insisting that OTHERS need to change.
The simple fact of the matter is that you need to change, because you cannot force everyone else to do so for you. That isn't how the world works.
With third party applications that have nothing to do with the streaming service? Yes, that is true. But as I just stated two sentences ago, you have to use another application that is not provided by the streaming service, and even then you are only recording the stream, just like the crappy audio cassette recordings of radio transmissions.
So, what about Mike's statement, instead of your own FUD, was misleading?
No, actually, Weird Al works out a deal with the original writers and artists because he wants to show them respect as fellow musicians. Parody is protect fair use, and thus requires no permission, but sometimes it is best to stay on good terms with other artists.
Perhaps if you actually read the article, you would know that you need to have passwords to open the projector to change the lens. Without said passwords and authorizations, the DRM on the machine disables it, making it a useless hunk of plastic and sorrow.
