I hope that the American government is sensible enough to not even CONSIDER actually extraditing the American citizens included here even if charges are actually filed.
Here's the way that I see the issues with the Islamic religion right now. The Islamic religion is about 600 years younger than Christianity. If you think about what Christians were doing to 'non-believers' about 600 years ago you may see a few similarities. I can't advocate violence in the name of any religion but try to see things in a broader prospective.
By the way, I am an agnostic who was raised as a Baptist Christian.
The blockbuster one that I've seen in my area had Avatar within the first month so yeah, they don't have the Redbox limitation. I wonder why Redbox played ball with the studios concerning this limitation. What was in it for them?
I think we're talking about a regulated system of voting rather than a regulated election. Here in Michigan we vote by filling out by hand a sheet with the little multiple choice bubbles like you have on a Scantron. Then you feed that into an optical scanner which checks to make sure the ballot is not spoiled (missing votes, too many choices for an office, etc.) and stores the results. So then you have an electronic and easy to count system with a paper backup just in case the machine is compromised. Even if we did switch to a touchscreen system here I'd prefer there to be a paper-trail that the voter can check before confirming his or her vote. With something this important, saving a bit of paper and ink just doesn't seem to matter anymore.
I'm not completely sure but, those aid boats never actually got into Israels' territorial waters did they? If Israel wants to call something an 'act of war' shouldn't they wait until someone actually violates their sovereign territory?
Ireland has the right idea here. If this data is so private then it shouldn't be handed to the government, it should be deleted with just enough oversight to make sure that there are no backups of it anywhere. If it's not private then what's the big deal? Don't bother Google about it let them do as they please.
Now, I personally believe that they probably shouldn't have been network sniffing even on open networks. However, I don't believe that someone doing the equivalent of taking pictures through my window when I failed to close the drapes is doing anything illegal.
Well when you have a street called International Speedway Boulevard (Daytona Beach, FL in front of the Daytona International Speedway), I'd expect for it to be used as a race track ^_~
While I do understand that under the current interpretation of the first amendment free speech isn't absolute, I believe that it should be. Using your example, if I were to run into a crowded theater screaming "Fire!" and that is followed by a stampede where people are injured or killed, then I should be civilly liable for damages and possibly criminally liable for deaths.
I'm all for unlimited free speech however, I also accept that with rights come responsibilities.
