Only the artist can make that decision. It is not a decision that the consumer can make (in the form of piracy for example), or tech-dirt, or anyone else, other than the artist.
I think you mean "should make" not "can make." Otherwise you're tilting at windmills. Every time I download a torrent, I prove that I can.
How do you figure they're using PRIVATE FUNDS? Is Bloomberg paying for this out of his own pocket? If not, then it's the city's PUBLIC FUNDS that are paying the tab, no?
I'm not scared of terrorists. What I'm truly scared of is that if another significant terrorist attack happens, whether or not the NSA's powers have been curtailed, DiFi, Rogers, King, Clapper, et all, will cry "See?! That's what happens if we don't have the ability to collect everything!", using the tradedy to drive us even further towards an Orwellian survailance state.
I haven't seen anyone mention yet the fact that if this was implemented in the US there would most likely be a rampant rise in drug addiction, gambling, prostitution, alcoholism, or other vices, as well as all the social ills that go along with these issues. But at least musicians could sit in their NY loft writing music which they can freely share in between rounds of shooting heroin. Oh, and no more piracy. Bully for us.
Not to mention bullet point #2 where they fail to mention that it took what amounts to a Presidential pardon of their illegal handing over of information when given a post it note from the FBI to keep them from being culpable.
Can't believe they issued a statement that is demonstrably false. Must have been written by someone at the NSA.
I have never donated to a polititian's campaign before, but even though I live in a different district/state, I will be donating money to whoever is running against Peter King in the next election. And, might I add, I have never voted for/supported a Democrat.

You literally should have used "figuratively" instead of "literally."

"Unfortunately, it looks like memory training doesn't slow memory loss as we age."
"...elderly volunteers who played it showed improvements in memory..."
"...the games show little to no real benefits."
Admittedly, I did not RTFAs, but just from the synopsis' it makes me scratch my head.

Because math.
In case you were wondering that works out to roughly $6,350/page.
