So taking down CSAM is just like "censoring" conservatives.
It makes sense in the same way these assholes claimed that same sex marriage would lead to bestiality.
It is not so much censoring as doing the job Congress should be doing of censuring its members that can't tell the truth.
None of this they believe, they think, fuck you you are in Congress if your staff can't get you factual information get a new staff.
You aren't being censored, you're being told to stop shitting on someone elses dining room table. But you are demanding we let these fuckheads keep shitting on the able because free speech!!
Meanwhile you take another dog whistle & blow it claiming that "Big Tech" is pimping out kids by turning a blind eye to it... while ignoring your favored platform refuse to even look for it.
Either Congress is to stupid to understand these issues or they just don't care, trying to create "new" problems to keep them from having to address all of the real problem we are having in a nation where members of Congress still insist the election was stolen & the insurrection was just a trip to the zoo.
Stop screwing with everyone else, and get your own house & senate in order & learn what truth actually is before doign this sort of shit again.

That thing where you know everyone in that "database" shares a non-white hue to their skin.
Cause you don't need to be an immortal sociopath to know that if you can force some good white boys into your gang you can silently slip pas the police because no white folk are gang members... except FOP, KKK, GOP... o_O
I mean I flag Evangelicals as terrorists, look at their actions kids.. its like white isis... but its wrong to just assume that everyone who claims to be an Evangelical is a terrorist... as long as they come out an denounce the acts of other terrorist Evangelicals fast enough & loud enough.
Its no longer cute seeing humans repeat the same cycles over & over never learning anything.
We harass them enough they end up in gangs to try and protect themselves, because we've assigned random points making it impossible for them to go a day without being hassled because of imaginary membership & its disgusting...
I mean its Boston... would someone like to explain that this is what they used to do to those fscking micks who showed up just to harm decent americans?

Anyone have any doubts that none of the money went to the small mom & pop providers it was supposed to and instead paid for shiny new equipment for the big guys?

Re:
Well in their defense they have managed to cripple the state of innovation in this market with fever dreams of trillions of dollars being made by film pirates... somehow....
They've managed to dodge several asteroids that should have killed their species off, but rather than adapt they just think they can demand the next asteroid to stop.
Something they really don't want to admit is in their efforts to screw each other over have lead to the insanity.
Recall if you will when sampling was awesome & then the lawyers decided that if 5 notes were used from someone elses recording they were owed 95% of the profits.
They spent more time fighting over imaginary windfalls they thought were there (without any proof there of) rather than see that this was a tip of a really big ice berg that was going to do serious damage to their ships & the best plan would have been cutting deals to make sure consumers could get the content they wanted.
But then they don't give a shit if consumers are satisfied.
They still think that people only go to theaters, that streaming will never compete with them if it can get awards, & we'll just take it because NetFlix is just a fad.

Also know as sending out a hyped up posse out after an innocent person you have told them is guilty despite having none of that silly evidence thing.

Thanks for providing that last bit of evidence needed for even the cops to look at you and decide thats a bad look for us.

Re:
1 asshole tried to take down a plane with a shoebomb so we all have to have our shoes screened to get on a plane.
There have been more than 1 mass shootings at the movies & we're not supposed to have a worry about it happening?
Shooting happens in a school and they get turned into mini prisons for a few months. I guess people going to the movies shouldn't be banned form bags & forced through metal detectors... but we do it for 1 location of mass shootings but not others?! Humans... how the fsck are you still alive.
Sticky floors are very common in many theaters of varying quality, usually a sign of cutting corners on staff & cleaning.
I didn't catch covid & die, so obvious covid isn't contagious.
Please take this map, it will lead you to the tree making oxygen to keep you alive. Make a pilgrimage & apologize.
So another day that ends in y in copyright cartel land?
They claim trillions in losses but never have any evidence.
"Village Roadshow to avoid their contractual commitment to participate in the arbitration"
Did no one explain to them that agreeing to arbitration never works out well?? I mean they have it in their contracts & abuse others but they thought they could avoid the fate?
"effort to boost streaming's popularity"
The full page ad that was run in Rolling Stone thanking the music industry for thinking the internet was just a fad goes here.
"clandestine plan to materially reduce box office and correlated ancillary revenue generated from tent pole films that Village Roadshow and others would be entitled to receive in exchange for driving subscription revenue for the new HBO Max service."
Again a day that ends in Y.
You negotiated a contract, you could have set terms if they were so important, you did not. How does it feel to be the one who was promised things in the contract based on the net after hollywood accounting says you owe the studio $2000 for owning a piece of the film.
We used to gather in caves for food & story sharing, those were sacred spaces but we managed to move on.
This entire industry is a relic of what used to be & the fallout of getting everything they wanted made into law forgetting you can't force people to go to a theater if it could kill them.

"filmmakers cannot access the digital content they need for fair use without a credible fear of civil and criminal liability"
And even if they are on the right side of the equation, they can still face crippling legal warfare.
They can easily crush anyone attempting to exercise their rights underfoot, any question of their ability and desire to do so should be answered by the "Dancing Baby" (Lenz v. Universal) being fought for a decade over a low quality video where the copyrighted content can barely be heard during the 30 seconds.
You gave them these expansive powers & are shocked that they pushed them to the limit & that they will fight tooth and nail (using a series of donations and outright lies) claiming the entire planet will die if people actually can exercise fair use.
It's time to start looking at factual information rather than unfounded claims supported only by campagin donations.

I await the first lawsuits when the "cloud" fails to activate a feature a customer needs in the face of death.
As the cool kids say, discovery will be lit.
Because you know auto companies tend to employ those who can think like 12 yr olds and explain that no matter how cool & money saving it might be, using 12 layers of saran wrap as a windshield won't fly... so there will be memos and emails where people question the need to tie core features into the cloud & explain the downsides they can see.
Huh... I know I can go and purchase a remote start kit for my car (cause its a certain age) do these newer cars shut that door with their secrets? Cause antitrust is the flavor of the moment & an entire industry shutting out those who would offer competing products for a single fee rather than a forced subscription model would seem like a huge abuse of their market position to protect profits.
Of course one does wonder other than a monthly bill what benefit there is for those who pay?
If you want me to keep paying to use the service are you extending the repair window on my heated seats?
What is the refund policy if I end up moving middle of the month to AZ and no longer would need heated seats?
What is the cost savings for consumers who don't want these extra features added to their car if they have no intention of using them?
'Merika where we just put a credit card swipe next to everything, because no only is the guac extra so is the salt, pepper, napkin....
