:) I've had a cop pull a gun on me for speeding in Marshall. Not sure if it's changed in the last 15 years but I'd still try to get out of there as soon as possible.
I agree completely - I'm tired of all business models and artists being compared to the mega stars. There are plenty of good musicians who either are, or will be happy if they make a decent living wage at it.
I assume most people posting here are happy with there jobs, I also assume most are not making millions. Why should it be different for musicians?
I thin another point that is missed often is that you don't have to be wildly successful to be successful. Sure if you can make millions that's great, but if you're only able to make $60000 a year - that's a pretty good living as well.
I agree they will never supplant DSLR's - there will always be a subset who want/need the highest performing camera they can afford. I do see that they are slowly supplanting point and shoots though just because the quality is good enough, and the best camera is the one you have on you.
I don't think dedicated p&s's will ever disappear however as they will always be able to pack more technology into a phone sized camera than in a phone/gps/mp3 player, they will however lose market share to the camera phones.
This highlights exactly why I haven't bought an ebook reader despite really liking the idea. I would pay a large price for the hardware if I thought the books reflected a realistic cost for going from something I can resell/give away to a version that is cheaper to produce, but only I can ever read.
Actually I can say I like music but don't like the Beatles. See it was easy. I don't like Elvis either, but still feel free to like bands who were influenced by him.
I remember years ago a local radio station would announce a commercial free block of music then play an entire new album from start to finish :) That's how I got alot of tapes.....
I agree this probably won't stop it for everyone - but as in other things discussed here a many pronged approach is probably best. No one answer will stop everyone, but a combination of approaches will be more likely to reduce the number of people texting while driving.
