I see. Obviously, claiming to be a journalist is not an excuse to steal other people's hard work. Thousands of corn farmers probably lost their jobs due to the amount of text he quoted for free.
His fixation on 12-year old boys only makes his lack of morals more obvious.
As usual, average_joe demonstrates a complete lack of journalistic integrity with this comment. Not a single source cited, nothing fact-checked. Just the worst type of "reporting" possible to come from a wannabe journalist like this.
And you claim to be a reporter? C'mon, you can do better than that.
"Today, most if not all electronics companies make items of poor quality and short durability so that they break quickly and people are forced to buy new ones."
The one thing that I don't understand: how can the law be retroactive.
In college courses, I was always told "the law is not retroactive," "the law is not retroactive," "the law is not retroactive". So if I make a law today saying that smoking is illegal, I can't arrest people that smoked yesterday or the day before!
What is this madness? That's like setting someone free because they served their time (art is in prison, get it?), then going to his house a year later and drag him back to jail because there's a new law saying the penalty for that crime is now 5 years more than before.
Wait... so, if the police officer's word is worth the same as the officer's word plus evidence, wouldn't that mean that policemen are trusted more when they have no evidence than when they have it? If the sum of the parts is the same in both cases, then the first value would be less, right?
And you claim your comments are "journalism", average_joe? You should look up journalism in the dictionary before commenting and then claiming to be a "reporter"!
There are several reasons the US turns away skilled immigrants and entrepreneurs.
Some examples:

- Stealing the American dream
- Remember Pearl Harbour
- Dey turk err jurbs
- Buy American
- Greatest country on Earth
- Truth, justice and the American way
- Durker durr
- U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
- The hot dog, the Brooklyn Dodgers. Mom's apple pie.

You're equating the "little guy" complaining about "infringement" (neither taking down nor suing) with the RIAA/MPAA going on a full legal barrage to take stuff down, putting people in jail for the same perceived "infringement".
Then you are equating community "jumping on" (threatening with defamation) the RIAA/MPAA for that completely hostile and aggressive behavior, to FunnyJunk going full-on legal with accusations of defamation against that same "little guy" because he dared say something about it.
RIAA going nuclear =/= Oatmeal voicing their opinion
FunnyJunk going nuclear =/= the community voicing their opinion.
