My digital music is all backed up on several devices as well as the provider's cloud.
My e-books are stripped of all DRM, converted and backed up on several hard drives and on my Ubuntu One account.
I share music and e-books with my friends and family because that is what culture is all about.
No more are schools/universities a haven of knowledge gathering and sharing or free discussion on all topics be they good, bad or ugly.
Schools and universities are now factories churning out mindless robots who are devoid of their own personality or the ability to think and speak their minds.
It's a pity this government has begun selling off chunks of the NHS to American private health care companies. The best part? Mainstream media outlets like the BBC are silent on the issue.
Yeah, because no one makes their own choices in life.
I am so sick of our scapegoating society.
Immigrants and unemployed blamed for government deficits - bullshit.
Violent video games blamed for real world violence - double bullshit.
Current governments blaming previous governments for the 'problems they left behind' - infinity bullshit.
It is time for politicians, corporations and the general public to step up and take responsibility for their own failings.
The best way to keep people healthy and reduce healthcare costs is greater emphasis on preventative care. One thing countries like the UK and US have in common on healthcare is that it is too reactive. We treat people when they become ill instead of educating them as to how they can avoid illness.
Yes, there are illnesses and diseases that cannot be prevented; but lifestyle illnesses are easily preventable with effort.
Big pharma would never allow this, though, because they make too much under the current reactive healthcare systems.
Highlighting the valid use of a law? Really? There is no need to highlight when a law is used properly. There IS a need to highlight when a law is abused so that we can try and refine and amend it to ensure it does not get abused.
This is a text book example of why penalties are needed for DMCA abuse.
This is not about protecting creators, it is about censoring a legitimate film that shows a different side to TPB (one contrary to the MAFIAA view) and there is absolutely nothing accidental about this one.

Yes, it is concerned with reducing the rights on consumers to enjoy what they buy in any way they see fit.
I pay for the damn thing so I will bloody well enjoy it and back it up multiple times.

Perhaps they were jealous that they didn't think of it.
