Re: Re: Re: Unions R not needed -- NO, clearly ARE!
So much anti Socialisat FUD and if you think those countries are examples of Communism then I pity you. This world has never seen true Communism, despite what the idiot press in the West tells us.
The fact that an employer can take this action clearly shows that Unions are needed. If you let them, an employer will run roughshod over their employees. Granted, I don't know how they are in the US or Canada, but in the UK the unions are the ONLY ones fighting for workers' rights.
I don't claim to, I do.

It doesn't matter if people are actually safer. It is all about creating the illusion of safety.
Getting rid of child porn, the war on terror, the war on piracy, the war on drugs, the war on cyber crime. Nothing that has been done so far has been effective in actually stopping those things but politicians look good because they are seen to be doing something. The majority of the public are too easily manipulated.
Re: The IRS should be used to go after real crooks: The Rich.
Another blanket attack against 'the rich'. Yawn.
Here's a newsflash. Some people who are rich are criminals, some people in the middle are criminals, some people who are poor are criminals. Blanket attacks on one group achieves nothing.

This is why I am a huge fan of services like Bandcamp and Pledgemusic. They allow artists to connect with fans on a level not previously available. They allow fans to feel a deeper connection to the music because they know they helped make it happen. I have contributed to several projects on Pledge (2 still ongoing) and I will forever have a special connection with those artists and their music.
I consider that a badge of honour. That list is a list of the countries who refuse to bend to the will of the US and their corporate paymasters. Very prestigious.
The folks over at the MPAA (or RIAA, for that matter) cannot process too many things simultaneously. Introducing fair use into their considerations would be one too many variables. We can't have that.

Absolute bollocks, the two things are very different and if you cannot see that then I'm not gonna bother explaining it.
