How about the lack of outrage over the Corrections Officers who used a high pressure hose and boiled an inmate to death?
How about the lack of outrage when the DA declined to file any charges?
So you've never heard anyone make the enlightened statement that the person who ended up dead, most often a person of color, should have just followed the orders?
Never seen the cops releasing the victims entire 'criminal history' in record time to show people they were a bad person who deserved it?

That thing about when they blow a clear 1st Amendment Ruling we send them off to a farm to run & play all day and not allow them to sit in judgement any longer.
It is nice to see a Judge willing to grand stand in such a way, making sure that anyone who has information will think twice about contacting anyone who might listen and share the information.
I'm guessing this is one of those times if we had a functioning Federal Government that someone might launch an investigation into how deep the corruption actually runs in this town.

While this is horrible being the resident sociopath means I have to point out that in 'Merika there are more people pissed about the dog being shot than a person of color.
They'll demand justice for the dog but are awfully quiet when the courts rule that beating someone to death who was having a mental health crisis was a okay. They'll accept the narrative even when the video shows something different.

Something something video game addiction is the Asian version of I saw a white van at Target.
No one wants to look at the reason kids desire to play video games for hours on end in a state where even a walk to the corner market can drop your social credit rating 300 points.
No one wants to look at the reason kids meet up online in games where, if we believe US Spooks AQ was recruiting and plotting in WoW chats, they have a bit more freedom without Big Mao looking over their shoulders.
No one wants to look at the escapism gaming offers to kids who can see their future of being corporate drones & praying when they jump that the suicide prevention net will fail rather than face another day making iphones they will never be able to own.
That they feel beaten down daily all of these expectations & computers/cameras making sure you don't dawdle in the wrong area to long... why the hell would they want to pick up a giant sword and charge into battle with others who count on you to swing and hit your target & have the social group standing that no one gets in the real world.

Survival sex is a thing, never said it wasn't.
There are also the smart girls who start stripping at 18, are out by 24 and can pay cash for their degree.
There are some sex workers who embraced their sexuality & took up the worlds oldest profession without have the 'tragic backstory' everyone assumes anyone who does sex work must have.
In the face of the media repeating the insane claims of truckloads of teen sex slaves brought to the superb owl, while never having any evidence of it, people have prejudged anyone who gets paid for sex. Its much easier to assume they are all from broken homes, were abused, were hooked on drugs then pimped out.
In the face of those beliefs, the 1st Amendment is much better ground for BackPage to stand firmly on... we live in a nation where some people believe that 600,000+ people did not die and are all crisis actors... no one can convince them otherwise.
There are many reasons people go into sex work, but until we can break the human habit of applying easy labels to difficult topics its impossible to discuss them.

Look at where the jury is being pulled from, do you for a minute think that those people are going to have the cosmopolitan view that sex workers are workers in charge of their lives or are they going to be recalling every after-school special where jenny tried drugs & ended up pimped out on the streets?

My brain wants to but can't manage a bang on the law, bang on the table, chew on the corner of the table & claim you're Napoleon example for this thinking.
It also provides a tiny bit of insight into why no one is making real progress in this "debate".
Strip away the "beliefs" they really do not matter, what matters is people finding a sense of community.
When they feel they belong they defend the community, and often manage to overlook that the community might be wrong.
People don't want to think the group they joined might be bad & belonging makes them bad as well.
No it's the children who are wrong.
They invent reasons why the really bad people are calling them names & dig in more to their newfound community.
Forcing them to show their work on a separate page is mean, because they know it won't stand up to even a gentle breeze so they reframe it as emotional attacks rather than rational so they can use the well they were mean escape hatch to keep believing.
600K+ dead we still have people convinced that Drs are classifying all deaths as covid because that gets them paid more.

If they didn't make content that could be pirated, then no one would pirate their content.
They are causing this problem & we demand in injunction to stop them from continuing to release content that will indirectly cause more piracy.
With this 1 injunction we could end all piracy against Sony and I see nothing wrong with this idea we shoudl execute it immediately.
