Well done for chucking out the Kool-Aid. Now, if only more people who go "but but the Gubmint" or "but but the Corps" would realise it's both, and both together raised to the power of each other.
Yes, but by getting the ahead lowdown on the podcast and it being simultaneously available on Smith's YoutTube channel, he's effectively become the 'official' guy for this, which is, aside from getting any dollars for what he was already doing, fantastic recognition.
So what if it is set up in a way that helps monetise Smith? If more artists/organisations made use of fans and customers like this, they would do so much better.
You might as well argue that FPS game makers 'profit' off people who generate maps for free that encourage people to buy their games. Added value comes in many flavours - some people want money, some recognition, and some both. And I'm sure there's other things too, like 'earning' experience.
For a country with a supposedly 'genuine' case against Assange and who supposedly only want him for 'questioning', Sweden (who have joined the US ButtMonkey Club along with the UK and NZ) have totally avoided actually questioning him at the Ecuadorian Embassy as they have been allowed to.
It's the GoTP. They'll make it ten times as hard for themselves as it needs be. Anyone remotely centre-enough to be elected by independent voters wouldn't get nominated by the rabid party activists.
My only consolation in all this debacle is that it wouldn't have been (and wasn't) any better under the Republicans.
BTW, the American centre/left really should be pushing back. Everytime someone whines about Benghazi, F&F or whatever, remind them of Iran-contra, the economic crash, ignoring 9/11 intelligence, and especially the WMD/Iraq invasion catastrophes.
Obama sucks, just luckily for him he sucks at things the Right mostly initially instigated or did/had more of.
Was there a point to that mindless Faux-based dribbling? Maybe you missed the point where the comparison was meant to be non-complimentary to President Obama? Also, what does it have to do with this post?
So something that is medically considered (by many) to be helpful and safe at certain concentrations can't be 'dumped' in the rivers so has to be 'dumped' in the water supply?
Your logic is so strained it ripped your tinfoil hat. Watch out! The government probably vaccinated you too!
Do I really have to list the same chemical things for Hydrogen Hydroxide? It's exactly that sort of blindly reeling off a list that Dihydrogen Monoxide jokes are meant to send up.
You also have to remember that one man's 'terrorist' is another man's 'freedom fighter'. That's why it's perfectly ok to rebel against your lawful king and (violently) declare a revolution, but not ok to (violently) protest a country's excesses abroad. It's ok to pay money to an organisation that will use it to kill and maim innocents (US to the IRA/Iran/Contras/Israel) but not to pay money to an organisation that will use it to kill and maim innocents (anyone else to Hamas/Hezbollah/Taliban).
It's possible, but the fact is, everyone in the world 'knew' that the US was spying on everything they could, but actually discussing it got you accused of tin-hattery. Now, it's out in the open. Possibly, the only way the 'terrorists' are doing anything differt is that they can't pretend that they don't know that the US is spying on everything - and the US knows that all other national governments know 'officially'.
Re: If software is copyrighted protected - As Masnick claims
"Copyright over-maximalists are always arguing for Software patents when the whole idea is a load of tosh.
Now they do not like the fact that people are pusing back against their blatant attempt to force copyright law to affect non-copyright issues. So does that mean you copyright over-maximaliss do not like Constitutional protections on physical products that people own, but you also hate freedom and Mom's Apple Pie?
I guess you would be happy with no-one able to own anything, physical or digital, at all !!!
But if you continuously argue that property whargarble patents derp copyright...
Reading 17 USC 1201 (as copywrong maximalists cannot do) it does appear not only badly written and thought out by vicious copyright baboons, these are definitelyusing pre-planned "Loopholes" the maximalists are using, they are using the law as they bought it and as they are twisting it, even when they aren't pretending it's even more limiting than it is."
There, fixed it for you. It still scores a D- for coherency though.
